I have two sides to my salon the smaller side has the doors opening out, the biger side has them opening them in. Customers could careless, I had some really tight rooms, like 6'6 x 8, so I had to. It isn't code, but WTF. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission, and you do not need a building permit to put a new door in.
TIP: when buying a new door they will ask you what swing do you want. An old carpenter told me a trick, put your butt against the hinge side and swing whichever arm you would need to, to replicate the way you want it to swing. I.e butt against the side where I want the hinge one arm is in the room one in the hall. which ever arm is the way you want it to swing, that is the "SWING" of the door LH or RH |
