Great question damore82603!
Many states specifically state in written regulations that staff must be “certified” by a recognized training program. A few states use similar language but keep salons ultimately responsible for some aspects of training.
Texas states in its rules that “Each operator must be sufficiently trained and knowledgeable….” A record of all training received by each operator must be kept at the tanning facility. Certificates from programs like ours show that staff has been trained in the majority of points covered by Texas state rules. Texas staff also need to be trained on the proper operation of the salons specific equipment.
Again, ATI certification does satisfy the majority of training requirements needed for Texas salons. To view a complete copy of Texas tanning regulations visit the
State Tanning Regulations Page on our website and
Click on Texas. The rules for training are covered in-depth on the “
Operators” section of the rules.
