Hey, if you dont want to be in jail, dont commit a crime! But you arent in jail because you are black
In some ways you are. If you are born and raised in the ghetto the likelihood of you being in jail is much greater than if you were raised in a nice neighborhood. Noone is born a criminal. People (children) imitate what they see around them. They follow the examples set for them.

That's why this is such a generational issue. Ghettos don't exist because a bunch of criminals decided it would be cool to all live together. The ghetto was born fifty years ago out of poverty. Poverty was born partly out of discrimination. All the "quotas" for hiring minorities that you say exist today (by the way what was YOUR quota at your salon?) didn't exist then.

Minorities WERE NOT given the opportunity to earn the pay equivalent of a white person. That's a cold hard fact. They weren't given the same opportunities in education. That's a cold hard fact. Some rose above it but most failed to overcome it.

So when you pooled them altogether and it was time to raise the next generation what were they teaching their children? Their grandchildren? It's a snowball that started along time ago. And it continues today. Yes, it is better than it was and their IS opportunity but who is leading these young minorites? Their being led mostly by the same people who were led by the same people.

I'll repeat myself. Noone is born a criminal. Noone is born lazy. People learn from the people and the environment around them and if you are born in the ghetto chances are you aren't learning the same values you and I were taught growing up.
