Default Re: lamp and glass change in magic

Big Al,

Ergoline has used this "mirrored" glass for sometime in all it's HP units. So have many other OEM's . Ergoline 650, 850, 1050, Soltron Shark, UWE Sunboard,UWE P90, Futuresun HP, Tanses Entropy all all popular units that many people tan for 10-12 minutes no problem.

Also don't paint all the "mirrored" glass with the same brush. There are many different variations of coatings that be used to get desired output & wavelength.

One HP manufacturer has been working on a filter that mimics the exact spectral output of the lamp. Therefore you will get optimal efficiency at lower wattages. The downfall would be if you replaced the lamp with another brand, output may suffer.

I'm not bashing Blue Glass at all, it of course has it place. Almost all italian HP bed makers use it one way or another.

On the Clear Glass issue, Schott does make 6 different types. Type "316" for instance lets tons of UVB to pass. Where as type "326" lets very little UVB to pass.
