Man stole plasma TV in 30 seconds, police say
The Arizona Republic

NORTHEAST VALLEY - Scottsdale and Phoenix police teamed up to nab a fast-fingered burglar who took just 30 seconds to steal a plasma television set from a Phoenix tanning salon.

Scottsdale detectives had watched 34-year-old Shawn Burns because he is suspected in burglaries from homes and cars in Scottsdale and surrounding cities.

Scottsdale detectives said they arrested Burns about 9:30 p.m. Thursday after they saw him break out a window at Atomic Tan, 3321 E. Bell Road.

Police estimate it took about 30 seconds for someone to disconnected the salon's television set and flee in a car.

Scottsdale police called Phoenix officers who arrested Burns after a traffic stop at 47th Circle and Crystal Road, south of Deer Valley Road.

Detectives said they found the television and loot from other burglaries in Burns' car.

A search warrant of Burns' home in the 15000 block of North Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard turned up more items from a car burglary.

Burns was booked on on suspicion of burglary from a vehicle and credit-card theft. He was detained by Phoenix police.
