Re: Detox support thread..... My recommendations for your weekly detox OK - you are working to get some major toxins out of your body. Things that just shouldn't be in there and that will eventually cause you great harm if left and added to. So..... Although I didn't really change much in what I eat/drink the week I did mine I generally eat healthy anyway. Only on rare occasions do I have a beer or glass of red wine. I rarely drink soda pop because it is so bad for the body for several reasons which I won't go into here. My suggestions are the following: Try to (as much as you can) do avoid the following during your detox: alcohol soda pop caffeine red meat white food (bread, pasta, rice) smoking (all kinds) Be sure to drink plenty of clean pure water to help flush the toxins out. You can substitute herbal (non-caffeinated) tea and drink it hot or iced for a change and that does count towards your water intake. Try to get plenty of rest. Your body is trying to rid itself of junk that may have been there for years. It will need energy to do that so try to get enough sleep at night. (Did you know that for every hour of sleep you get before midnight your body thinks you have gotten 3? Staying up really late robs our bodies of the time it uses to heal and rejuvenate itself). Our bodies are amazing and they will heal themselves of all kinds of abuse if we change things. It is making the decision that you want to live healthy.
