Probably a loose connection either in the bed or the plug itself. loose connections cause heat.
Check wall outlet , check power cord, Take it apart if it is that kind of style, take apart the bed where the power cord goes into the bed and look at the connections and make sure they are all tight and no connections are burnt looking
