This is a very important study that I hope salon owners will take the time to forward to their local media and tanning customers!!
1. Done at a "Center for Cancer Research" - not by ITA or anything else
2. Backed up by a US Scientist here at Brookhaven!
From the article:
According to Moan, if the general population of Norway
doubled the amount of time spent in the sun, approximately 300 more people would die each year from skin cancer, representing twice the current death rate. However, there
would be 3,000 fewer deaths from other types of cancer. "The current data provides further indication of the beneficial role of sun-induced vitamin D for cancer prognosis," says researcher Richard Setlow, from the
U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory.
Bottom line - in Norway alone, could save thousands of lives! Or conversely - the "be scared of the sun!" preaching is literally leading directly to the deaths of thousands of citizens in that small country alone.
Now, extrapolate to a country the size of the U.S. .............
