Leave the voice, it gets an extra 5 bucks as people go, "Wow, it talks!" Even if it sounds like $h!t.
You connect the timer on the back of the control board. I don't remember what wire you cut and add the contact wire in between but I will be working on one on the 14th and will check then if you can wait. It has been several years since I connected it and don't remember the exact pin on the board.
