I bet nobody even knows what this holiday is in honour of?????? I do.....$5.00 and i'll tell you. Not like anyone cares, as long as they get a day off.

It's Simcoe day......

The August holiday falls on the first Monday in August. It is generally a low-key celebration of John Graves Simcoe, who was the first Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario (which was then known as Upper Canada).

As in Lake Simcoe....where my cottage is.....god bless him and the lake that was named after him. He has given me a day off.

Yah, maybe in Ontario. Not here in Saskabush. It is just "Provincial Day" or in other words, a holiday that was added a few years ago to each month has one.
