Below is a copy of a notice on the JCTA's website. If you or someone you know is interested in ensuring a strong indoor tanning industry in Canada please consider getting involved as a Director of the JCTA.

If you are not already a member of the JCTA go to www.tancanada.org and join today. There is even a FREE 2 week trial membership if you want to explore the benefits of being a member.

The bottom line is that a strong national association will benefit all salon owners as we continue to fight against those who would like to see this industry die.


CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Dear JCTA Member,

As a Member of the Joint Canadian Tanning Association (JCTA), we invite you to nominate individuals or yourself as a potential Candidate in the 2007 JCTA Board of Directors Election.

As per the bylaws of the JCTA; board members are elected for a term of 2 years with ½ of the positions on the board come up for election every year. Because this is the first election for the Board of Directors of the JCTA; the president will be up for election.

All Nominations and voting must be sent via email to info@TanCanada.org

Nominee must be a JCTA member in good standing.


Positions Up for Election

There are four positions up for election by JCTA members

President
Director of Prairie Provinces
Director of Education
Industry Advocate (1 position)

How Do I Nominate or Apply?

1. Send e-mail to JCTA with Name, Business Name and e-mail address of person you are nominating
2. The Nominee will be notified of the nomination and must agree via e-mail to the nomination by September 20, 2007.
3. Nomination period runs from August 10, 2007 to September 12, 2007.

JCTA Members may nominate any individual who is eligible to become a JCTA Director. Member Nominations starts August 10, 2007 and closes September 12, 2007.

Election Period

Ballots will be distributed through the website notification system on October 1, 2007. All voting is to be conducted via e-mail or in or person at the Annual General Meeting October 12th. Salon Members will be voting for the director for their specific province/region, President, and Education Director. Industry Advocate members will only be voting for the Industry Advocate Director position

JCTA Members can cast their 2007 JCTA Board of Directors Election votes from October 1, 2007 to October 11, 2007 via e-mail directed to the JCTA. Or JCTA Members attending the JCTA Annual General Meeting on October 12, 2007 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee can cast their votes in person.

JCTA Members will be notified of upcoming Election activities through the website notification system.
