I am curious to know what lotions, salons are carrying. I currently do Aussie Gold and DS. I love the product of DS and have been reading the posts on the forum and their is a lot of backlash on them. Uvalux is the sole distributor for DS and Cali tan in Canada in 2008 and I don't see a problem with that, as I would still like to order DS. So now whats all the Canadians thoughts on the lotions as such.

Everyone's gonna carry different ones. And Uvalux isn't the sole disty. You can still get it from other disties.

You don't see a problem with that because you do not realize that once every distributor is out of their current DS & Cal Tan stock your discounts are going to diminish. Uvalox is not the only disty you can purchase from, Sunwest is also going to be carrying DS. I am not too sure about other disty's but I know that Sunwest who is powered and owned by Four Seasons (the biggest disty in the US) will be carrying the Designer line. I do not like the direction that the new Designer Skin is heading in & I think you will see most of the people on this site agree.

I am adding Devoted Creations this year We have been slowly adding it and the response has been fantastic. I thought I may keep Spellbound around but we are getting a great response from the devoted to Couture so that will take its place.
We are going to keep the Tanology Spa Line but are not going to carry their high end line anymore. Wewill also keep Brown Envy around but push the Tanology Spa line more this season.

I am having my grand opening in a few weeks and will be getting rid of a lot of my stock, so maybe when i re order I will give devoted creations a try. The response to the line is amazing.

does anyone know if sunwest carries DC? I was a huge DS fan for a while, but i can't get past the dam packaging. I have tried a lot of stuff with DS, and was trying to be patient, but I can't do it anymore, so now DC is what i am wanting to go with, but I am unsure of if Sunwest carries the product.

CanTan is one DC Distributor for the West. Go to CanTan's show the President of DC was their this weekend in Vancouver with infromation on all products and you can smell and feel their entire product line before choosing.

Now i am curious about something here. How does everyone deal with changing distributors when u have purchased from one and then start ordering from another without them getting offended. I built a good repoir with my disty, and I really want to go with another one so I can get the DC, yet don't want to piss anyone off. How does one deal with a situation like this????

Its all come down to price...because what else do you get from a distributor? Its all come down to "business" whom gives the best discount?

Discount is not everything....the Quality of service and do they ship in a timely manner?

Are they going to be there for you when you REALLY need them? Are they looking at you as a business partner or just a customer?

I love DS products, not so much their new products other than Black and priviledge, but i miss NOT getting the free 24 packettes for every 6 bottles i buy. Am slowly trying all the Devoted line up...and may have to switch. I like that black for $99 is supposedly as good as the next $100-$120 bottle of lotion, but it is double the size too! I'm trying to believe the larger the bottle, the more a client will use each tan? We are easily selling Black!

Yes i love Black myself, and spellbound and revival have been very popular, but some of the other new stuff, i am not so sure on. The bottles are too big, and the packaging is cheesy. I am no artist, but could probably do a better job. So now i am considering DC, yet need to switch disty as they don't carry DC. Oh well, she has been very good to me, but likek u said, its business.

i tend to disagree Rob...when a client has a larger package they tend to tan more or use upgrades and when they are using a larger bottle of lotion they tend to use more...and not try to make it last forever. "line of BS" why would it be BS? why would i BS? You make it sound like i have something to gain by saying that??

Not at all.

I got sucked into the bigger bottle more uses sales pitch back in 2004 when DS started really pushing the 13.5 oz bottles. 2004 was a great year for lotion sales, but when 2005 came around, our sales dropped by 35% from 2004 because people still had half a bottle of the 13.5 oz DS lotions.

The only time I see them tan more, is when there is an unlimited. They are trying to get more tans for no more $$ out of their pocket.

The reason your seeing more tans with the bigger package is because that customer has the $$ to buy a bigger package. If the person with less $$ were givin the $$ to buy the bigger package you would see them more too. Its all about the $$. Lotions are different. They have already spent the $$, now they are tryin get every last possible tan they can out of that lotion.

Curious now to know what are the more popular DC lotions out there. I am going to order some bottles to see the reponse and would like some of the more popular ones that people recommend.

What is the response for MR International. I just ordered some DC to try out and wanted to order and I ordered some tan x a try as this was recommended since they don't have any aussie gold anymore. Any feedback!
