Default Selling Hex - What charge

I am considering selling one of my Hex stand ups - 40 lamps, 160W. Now what is a reasonable asking price for this type of stand up.

Depends on how old and what kind of shape it's in. I easily get anything between $1000 and $2500 for Hexes up to 10 years old.

Its in great shape, and about 10 years old. Plus I have a case of brand new lamps for it, so 2500 sounds like it could work.

Throw in ALLnew lamps, not just a case. Include delivery, replace any worn solarite, and probably the screens. Laminate, and not wood-grain finish is also a must for that price to have a chance. Besides that, you'll have to find someone that is looking for a Hex.

Don't be in a hurry, but buyers are out there.

So then in my opinion because I will get S#$% for it, I should basically use it as a trade in. That would probably be the best idea. Am I correct on this or what?????

If someone will take it on a trade in then do it.

Most companies wont take older beds as trade ins. I tried to trade my 3 TA 30's in for a credit towards a bed and they said it was better if i just sold them on my own.

Go to a gym and tell them you will put it in and change the lamps for them. Put it on coin box and split the profits in a fair percentage.

If you can't sell it for at least $1500 then you haven't tried.

I can buy them all day long for $500 - $800, fix them up, and easily triple my money. Clean it up, wait for the right buyer, and sell if for $2000.00

Or, dump it or trade it for $1000.00.

This is one occasion where if you follow Brian's advice, you just screwed yourself - unless you just want to get rid of it and don't care.
