Okay Canadians, can we use the EFT processors that the Yanks do with our software? I've never done EFT so I have no clue how they normally work or work with the salon softwares. I have Tantrack which uses PC Charge Pro. IS that available for us?

Did any of that even make sense?

Don't know about you software....but i know Helios doesn't do it for Canucks unless you open with Chase Manhatten bank. I think there is 1 downtown toronto.

I do EFT with Moneris. They have E-Select Plus setup online where you can not only do monthly EFT withdrawls, but you can also process CC payments online without a terminal in your store as well as use it for your website for online purchases (shopping cart).

I believe it's $49/month....but i think i'm paying $39. They also take the same % they would per transaction as if you processed it on your terminal.

You'd have to keep a separate database on there that you would maintain as they enroll, freeze or cancel.

But otherwise, it' does it every month on for you hassle free. Worth every penny once you get too big for manual processing.

if you only have like 50 members...i'd say do it on your CC terminal monthly. Takes about 10-15minutes.

When i was doing EFT's...and had over 250 members.....you can't maintain that manually......

They only do CC's....for cheques/bank account, you need to set it up with your bank. CC processors won't do it for you. That's another $50/month with TD !

Well at least it won't come back NSF. Maybe I'll only take M/C because those mofos let you go WAY over your limit. Not that I would know....

It will come back declined/NSF but you won't get charged for it. But i still charge $10 NSF fee if it doesn't go through. Whether i get charged or not. FAKEM.....if they don't have $20 in their account to pay for the membership, they deserve to get penalized!

So if they start on the 1st and you run it on the first, does the bank or whoever call you and tell you that it didn't clear? How long til you find out?

If you run on the 1st.....it's processed on the 1st...in the morning. By the time you come in to work, you go online and it will show you all the transactions (processed or declined.)

They don't call you.....you maintain everything yourself. The computer tells you immediately if it went through. Better than a phone call.

EFT Canada....pay per transaction.....How much? Cuz then you also pay the % charged to the credit card of 2% or whatever it's set up to be...NO?

It better be 10cents per transaction or LESS or it's not worth it.

I run Visa/MC mannually every first of the month, and use EFT Canada for Chequing & Savings Automatic withdraw's. It is .10 per transaction.
I also get a great rate on Visa Desjardin POS terminal for Visa/MC & Debit

My POS is Ingonico throught Scotia. I guess I could check with them. Did know if it was them or my bank I had to deal with.

Deal with your POS company, I know recently BNS just increased its charges not only for banking but also POS

Ingenico is the manufacturer of the machine.....They could also be the service provider as well. Last i heard....(the director of business development for Ingenico tans with me) they don't offer the Online EFT thing or EFT services. he tried to switch me over and i told him, SURE...can you do EFT's monthly for me? He said no...i said, when you do, let me know.

So you might be SOL there too....

we looked at getting set up for EFT through scotiabank. I believe they required a $10,000 deposit to do so. We just run CC manualy on the 15th of every month
