HEHE this is why I'm keeping everything seperate. I'll be putting my business in a trust so no one can get at it if they become legally tied to me. Maybe you could do something like that while your at it?

I think you will probably just need some sort of letter stating that there is a transfer. Maybe if you call the tax people they will tell you what you need. Sometimes they can be really helpful, othertimes they can be b!tches....at least here. When I bought my salon, I had to get a letter from the old owner and have it notorized stated that I had permission to use the name and all that jazz.

If you dont own it why do you want it in your name, if he is gifting it to you then you need a contract stating the name change

Because now it's alllll mine. I talked to the name registry people and there's really nothing that needs to be done with them. I don't even have to register and he doesn't have to dissolve it. Only because it's sole proprietorship. The main thing now I guess is the GST/PST numbers and bank account. The bills have always been in my name. Oh and just the business licence.

If it is sole you might want to change it to a Ltd. incorporated co. While you are going through this anyway it might be a good time to look into it.
If its all yours you will still need to have an "agreement" in place. But look at the benefits of Ltd.

Let your lawyer handle it all. Don`t take the chance of not doing this. Name changes can be tricky. Better to have it done legally than take the chance of something happening later. If nothing else get your lawyer to draw up a paper saying he has no legal ties to the business and he is not responsible for any of the debts. That way you should be clear. Who is on the lease? If both of you are then you will have to sign another one. They may not let him off.

Did you read the thread at all? None of what you said is my concern or question.

Hahaha I'd have a fleet of lawyers if I had to deal with him. Wonder how he's doing.

PHP Code:
How much of a pain is it when buying/selling and existing salonTax numbersname transferbank accounts for the debit/credit machine...?

Is this not your question? When you buy a salon you need a lawyer.
When you sell a salon you need a lawyer. The rest maybe not but I have been through this 3 times and for sure you need a lawyer.

If this is not your question then make yourself clear. I think some other post have told you the same thing. It might seem simple and it probably is but all I was saying is back up everything that you do and let your lawyer guide you.

For yur question yes I did read your post. But what do I know?

Thanks for your help. Your work here is done. And you only repeated what others said earlier. Seems like you just like to make appearances in threads...read the first post, the last one, the comment nothing new.

I am sorry I repeated what others said but I have a problem reading all your boring post. You need to tone it down sweetie. If you would post something of value then I might read the whole thread.

If you find a post boring and cant handle reading to the bottom why respond? I thought it was boring, but how can you make a change of ownership post interesting?

I was not talking about this last post I was talking about her post in general. She said she had all the information she needs so I am closing this thread.
