This has been covered a lot here. Contact the manufacturers and get demos of their products and see what best fits you. We contacted Tan Track, Helios, SalonTouch, SunLync and got demos from all of them. Most were fully working demos (except for like timers, EFT processing, etc) so you can really give the programs a run through. You can also use the Search tool here on this site, and get plenty of information on all of these programs.
Each program is different, and you'll get lots of goods/bads with most of them, since none of them are perfect. Get the demos, and see what works best for you. |

I think XP is the safest platform. Vista has too many issues and non-compatibility. We'll see how Windows 7 turns out.
I also like Photoshop and Corel is not bad either. I think Nero is a good burning software. Quickbooks is a simple and effecting accounting software. Hope that helps.

I have used Salon Touch and Helios, I have liked Helios best even thou it also has lots of things I don't like. I have gotten the Demo on Sun Lync did not like it at all. All Salons are different and as an owner you may have different goals in mind for you salon. I am big on Retail and need a great tracking software for ordering purposes. Helios is the best out there I think for that.

As you can see everyone can give you advice. Just try them all and you decide what is best for you.

I don't think everyone read my email in the spirit I wrote it in. I need to know WHO has Helios V12 Enterprise? How do you like it? Is there something better out there? Who is it? Demos do NOT tell the story. Need real people who are familiar with Helios V 12!!

You'd rather take someone else's word for it than get demos of the software you'll soon be using to run your entire salon and see for yourself? Most companies will send you a FULLY FUNCTIONAL demo with the only restriction being it won't talk to your timers. Everything else, from inputing client information, services and products should be fully functional. The "spirit" of your last "email" was also pretty rude, so if you're asking for someone else to do the research you should be doing, you might want to be a little nicer. Good Luck! |
