I don't get how no drop-downs are better. If you have a lot of people with a common name, the drop down is good. I don't wanna have to type out their whole name.

Sandi,
First off, there are 2 name boxes now...first and last.

So for instance if you have a client whose name is Becky Jones, you can do one of the following:

Type Becky in the first name box and hit search and it will pull up every Becky in the system and you double click the one you want.

Type Jones in the last name box and hit search and it will pull up every Jones in the system.

Type Be... in the first name and Jo... in the last name and it will pull up everyone with the letters that you've typed in. This is how we choose to do it.

It's easier to do than I'm explaining but I'm trying to do the best I can for ya.

Oh gotcha.....so it's still shows you the options with that name, it's just not in drop down format.

Does anyone know if the most recent version of tan track before this upgrade will work with new computers with Vista or Windows 7? I am currently running Windows XP and my computer is getting outdated. I am in fear of my computer crashing in the busy season so I wanted get a new computer and put my current version of tantrack on there is it will work.???

I'm not sure, but I just upgraded PC Charge Pro to the newest version, and when I went to load it, it wouldn't let me b/c I had XP Home and you must have atleast XP Pro. I talked to TanTrack support and William HIGHLY RECOMMENDED XP Pro and not Vista or 7. I would think it would work with them but not sure and I just went with what they suggested.

Just go to the site and there are patches/fixes/upgrades and will tell you what you need.

Yes, that printer is fine. I got my 3.0 installed this week and other than getting used to something new, it works great.. I had a glitch with the "finish" z report, but Nichsoft fixed that. My daily totals wouldn't zero out. It takes awhile to set up the buckets for your bed packages and upgrades, but when this done, it really works neat.

UGH!!!! I can't open Tantrack today!!! Yesterday the computer was prompting me to compact files but I thought it was just for outlook. Then when I went to open TT today it stoped at the employee part and said there was an error compacting I think. Then it wants to know where my data files are but I can't select or cancel. Have to ctrl alt del to get out. I put in my memory stick that has my backup (did it a couple of days ago), it worked but then I only had 74 customers!!! WTF!

Great way to start my day. OH and I had 2 people waiting. Had to put them in manually and I hate when I know it won't show on their records. Then I got in an arguement with one of them because she was being a bitch. UGH!

I have had that happen to me twice before. Since then I make sure I back up my system twice a day! It is very frustrating I don't really know what to do fix this probem I have been bqacking up the system before I compact because it always seem to happen when you are compacting

You can do that, but you will be losing some things. What I did to gain some of it back is go through your credit card receipts and if you have a camera system you can look to see you came in.

System restore doesn't affect the tantrack stuff though...just the computer itself so maybe it will UNcompact?

SandiGirl, are you running Vista/Win7? If so, you may have to right click and "Run as Administrator". Helios was giving me a database problem until I realized I always had to open with the "Run as Administrator"option.

I was wondering how to put customers in the tanning beds while the upgrade is going on. I remember we entered the time into the beds manually but that was such a pain. Is there a way to do it with the timer not hooked up to the computer?

You should be able to set time from your tmax manager at the front counter. Pretty simple to do.....just the push of a few buttons.

Hardly any glitches with 3.0. The problem with backing up your files using Tantrack exists. You can't back-up because they don't have that part of program ready yet. I think that this is a real important thing and they would get that fix done quickly. I want to delete some of my inactive customers, but am afraid to try it, because I don't have backup.

Parrot, backup has worked fine on my end since installation. We backup every night and have not had any issues. I even check my backup and it's there.

Not sure why you are having the problem?????
