Parrot,
Should be a pretty smooth transition, I know quite a few salons have been BETA testing it for quite some time. I have one of the older BETA versions, but haven't had alot of time to mess with it in the last 6-8 months, so I'm not sure if there is a newer one or not...but the many of the new features are great.

Whats the price on the new 3.0 TanTrack for a 4 bed salon? I know there is two different verisons a 1-4 bed and a 4 and up bed salon...
If I bought this would I have to purchase two for two salons? Thanks |

Amy,
It's optional. I just finished upgrading this morning, but my current receipt printer is not compatible, so I just ordered a new one.(look for my used one in the trading post...haha..shameless plug)

The only surprise is that my receipt printer is old and outdated and epson doesn't support it anymore and there are no drivers to make it work properly with the new tantrack. I have a new epson thermal printer I just bought being overnighted.
I really love some of the new features, especially dealing with EFT's. I used to do alot of editing packages as clients would freeze, cancel, change etc. The new features added make these things much easier. Also, no drop down menu's which makes it much faster switching screens. So now it's just searches. So if I don't remember someones first name but I remember there last, or the other way around, you can just put in what you know and it'll pull everything with that in it and you can just skim through it.(not the best worded definition, but you'll have to see what I mean when you can see it).

Also, it makes us look better b/c if someone walks in we don't know or remember, you get employees that'll just ask "last name?"
Which you always had to pull up by last name in the old version. The new version you can pull up by first name, email, phone, address...whatever you can remember.

Sorry for the multiple posts, but I'm thinking as I go.
The buckets are great also...which leads you to be able to do upgrades on the fly instead of having to make up a new package etc. for it. They will explain to you how to get the buckets set up, which even though I had 57 packages to go back through and set up...it was easy and you only have to do it once.(unless you're me....William loves me so much he made me do it 4 times) ![]() I would suggest that if your salon is busy, to have another employee there with you to run it so you can focus only on the upgrade with the tech support and then editing what you need to edit to get running quickly and as smoothly as possible.

Parrot, some issues were had that made it run much longer than thought, but the bugs seem to be worked out now. I would say give yourself a few hours.
Also make sure you are on the most up to date version of 2.6.7. This was an issue that was overlooked on mine that caused a glitch and had to redo my database which took an extra hour or so.

Shane, I'm on the most current version, so this should be ok. I am confused as to the "buckets" your referring to. I know the tech told me of some conversion which I would have to do. This must the buckets, huh? Thanks, Shane

Do we just go to the site and do the update? How old was your receipt printer? I'm skerrrrrrd. I'm Badluck Schleprock. I call it the Sandi Factor.

Sandi,
You should have gotten an email from Nichesoft letting you know how this upgrade will work. You actually have to call and set up an appointment and one of the tech guys will actually log in to your computer and do the update for you. It's basically a whole new program...not just an update. My printer wasn't that old...but it's not supported by Epson anymore which sucked...but the new printer I got rocks....the Epson tm88iv I think is the model #.
