Is it OK for a man to wrap a woman and vice versa with the Formostar? It looks like it would be OK but you still have to come in contact with the person.

Is there a site for the Thermojet that's been talked about also? Are they both comparable in price?

not yet, I haven't had people in the door since we got it. damn weather.

I'm wrapping women, you aren't really touching the person. They are fully clothed, all you have to do is strap them up.

The customer is fully clothed, so it shouldn't be an issue. you actually can, and should, have the customer assisit in wrapping the pads around them. When you approached a delicate area you can have the customer move/hold the pad in that area. You should be fine. As with anything, use common sense. I suggest leaving the door open to the room while you are wrapping them. That may make it more comfortable. Then when you leave the room close the door.

As for Thermojet, do a google search for them too. You will learn almost everything you need to know from the websites. At least enough to decide if you need to learn more.

Both Thermojet and Formostar cost about the same new. Around $9k. Seems like Thermo cost just a little more. not enough to make a difference. I would try to find a used unit. When I looked I didn't find any used Thermojets. Found a couple Formostars. Hard to find either used, but if you are patient you will find one eventually.

I got a Formostar mainly because I foud it used. Also I was leaning towards Formostar because it had been around longer and I found alot of people that had a Formostar, and they all said positive things about it. I only find a few people that had the Thermojet, but they too all said positive things. But I went with the safety in numbers and the longer track history. Plus Formostar has a web-directory that will list your salon as Formostar retailer.

99% of my Formostar clients are women. None of them ever expressed a problem with me wrapping them.

I also take measurements before each session to keep track on their file. Only had 1 person say they didn't want to be measured. But they were really fat.

I keep the door closed, as they don't want people walking by seeing me measure them. They feel more comfortable by ppl not seeing them.

You don't touch any private areas, so there is no worries....unless they ask you to...

Never had a problem with my female clients. Men are the only ones that don't feel comfortable, but i tell them they aren't my type, they laugh and i continue wrapping them.

They best way to get around them being uncomfortable with you measuring them is by telling them...

" the best part about the package you are about to do is, that we measure you and keep track before each and every session and tell you after each session what you have lost since the last one. By not having measurements, you could lose like 2inches on your waist, 2 inches off your legs etc..within a few sessions and when you put pants on you'll say, yeah, they fit a bit better....but 2 inches off your waist is a huge difference....that you won't know unless you measure each time." They say..."Great....i want to know the progress and not play guessing games."

We also have a scale to weigh them, but i just pull it out and tell them to weigh themselves for their own knowledge, if they want to tell me and i write it down....they will. If not...i don't care...as long as they know for themselves.

It's their weight that they don't really like to share....so give them the option...weigh yourself at home every morning or you can use our scale here. Up to you. Even if your scale at home is off in weight...all you really want to know is the difference and loss.

So if you are really 160lbs and your scale says you are 168lbs...who cares...cuz when you lose 5 lbs...it will show the loss...even if it's not accurate. THAT is what you are going after...monitoring the loss. If you lose 15lbs...that's what you want to know. That's all the scale is there to do for you.

Good luck to everyone with Formostar.

If you need any marketing material or help marketing your formostar, let me know.

I have Trifold with my salons information, website and package pricing on mine. Personalized. So most ppl take one for them and one for a friend. The friend then comes in cuz your info is on it...ready to buy cuz your customer referred them and told them to buy. Easy sale...they come with Credit Card in hand.
