Default Got my formostar today

I just got my formostar today. I'm a little disapointed, I think i got one of the older models, not sure if i like it better than the digital readout or not. Anyways, I wrapped 2 people today, the first one, I don't think i had all her areas wrapped as snug as they should have been.

It takes a little patience to get used to working with the pads as they are rubber like and you can't just pull the wrap to tighten it up. Not sure if i just made sense but I know what i'm talking about.

both ladies said it got really hot and they were both using it on 80, but it wasn't unbearable.

I need to come up with a good routine for cleaning it.

I REALLY HOPE PEOPLE LIKE THIS

It doesn't have to be too tight, the infrared heat does the work, it is not compression wraps like the ace bandage wraps. It takes some practice but you'll get the hang of it. Try not to overlap the pads, especially on the skin that is thin, i.e. inner thighs and hip bones. It does get hot, but that is the best part!

If you try to pull the wraps tight, you risk breaking the wires inside and having to buy new pads (at $700/pop or so!). Like LewdyJu said - it's the infrared, not being tight like a mummy!

Before you roll them out, try them on friends, family, staff, yourself!! Don't try to sell this until you KNOW it "works" and you are enthusiastic and so is your staff!

My young staff tried the Thermojet one time. She is an active soccer player and fit. But she feels she has a little "belly fat".

After the ONE try, she is CONVINCED! She is going to do it every 4 days (as recommended) this month and track her progress. But she is already telling everyone about it.

THAT is how you sell it. Try it, be convinced yourself. Sincerity sells.

I too suggest trying it out on yourself and staff first. We had ours for 8 days before we officially offered it. The staff and I all used it. We were all alot more comfortable wrapping customers after we had practice with it.

And I also agree, that the pads don't have to be tight to work. I don't even think it matters which side is in contact with the skin. But i suggest making sure you have the pad turned so the wire side is not in contact with the skin. That was one of the things we picked up on in our practice, that we didn't think of before.

Good luck, hope you make more money from the wraps than from Circuit City

so the body wrap just has to be around them, doesn't have to be snug or anything?

You should try to get it snug. but if it is loose it is still okay. Do you place a sheet or blanket over the person? That does seem to help a lot. It keeps the heat concentrated on the person. It makes it alot more hot, and they will sweat a lot more too.

I have been. We haven't charged anyone yet, so the people I tried it with knew that I might not know exactly the best techniques yet.

My g/f used it this morning, and she had to take the leg wraps off, with about abou 10 mins left, I think her sweatpants were too thin to not have a towel in between the wrap and her body.

Why would your model be one of the older models. Did you buy new or used?

its' brand new, I can't answer that one. I'm going to have to check into it though.

I actually think the older one looks more professional than the digital one. The shape of the digital one just doesn't fit with me. They should have kept the design of the old one and just added digital guages instead of the analog. simple.

I was reading and Drew said they have more problems, so I don't know.

Mke, the one you have is what everyone gets, they did have trouble with the digtal so those are not distributed by them. Yours should work fine, kind of ugly perhaps but it works.

Mike,

They are the older looking ones...eventhough they are new. THey don't sell the digital readout ones you are thinking about here in North America. Something about them having problems and being recalled. So they continue to make the older style....to this day. Still brand new.

That is why i told you to buy used, cuz there is no difference between today's model and 2001 model. Other than the price.

But you said you couldn't in your situation....but your's is brand new.

if yours looks like that ^^^^ then there is nothing wrong. That's the new unit.

If you're thinking of this unit...^^^, no longer distributed in North America due to recalls.

This is what i was told by Formostar Direct.

It takes 5 minutes to figure out how to use it. I can train an employee by having them wrap me one time. Kathe

Instead of taking the pads off if it gets too hot, just turn it down a notch or two. If someone comes in with really thin stuff I use hand towels to cover.

You might also get hot spots. I had a doctor tell me that it is probably toxins in those areas but who knows???

Yeah unless you live where I do and then you only need a Master Esthetician to do it......and I was looking forward to giving it a try even though a salon in my area is not doing.....I don't think I want to risk it.

It's a weight loss and inch loss procedure. The person is wrapped with pads that are connected to the device. You'll learn alot more about at www.formostar.com.

Yeah, there are 2 or 3 sites. If you can't find them, do a google search for Formostar. All the sites will pop up.

Mike, you make any $$$$ yet with the Formostar?
