Unhappy Dead pad already!!

Just got a call that the red pad is not heating. We baby those things!! I don't want this if its not going to hold up. I can't buy a break, every time i get some hope something goes wrong. I definitely don't have the money for a new pad

Should not have happened. Most likely the plug came out just a hair from the unit. I had this happen and thought the same thing. Plug it into the yellow plug to see. Plus you are covered for a year on pads.

Good Luck

well, i just spoke to them again, apparently it doesn't feel like its getting hot near the edges. I'm gonna head in tomorrow to check it out. I never felt them "hot" at that point since we got it though. Possible bad pad?

I just saw your other posts so I'm assuming you are speaking of the Formostar. The pad doesn't heat up from where the cord comes out to the end of the pad. That side of the pad always goes on the outside. That is also true with the other pads. If you have any questions I am very familiar with the machine. According to Jim at Sun Power Source, we had the busiest machine in the nation.

no, we understand how it works, the outer areas of the pad dont' seem to be heating. I'm referring to the red corded pad, it's not getting as warm as the yellow one.

Maybe just a bad pad. We've had ours over a year now with no problems.

LavaToy -

Would love some input on how you are marketing yours. We are doing well but can always do better and I would love to be doing so well that I have to buy a 2nd one.

Well I was had a machine for a couple years with not much activity. Then, I hired a licensed nutritionist that incorporated an eating plan including several supplements. We sold 14 day meltdowns for $379 and 30 day meltdowns for $499. She used to manage a weight loss center that closed so we got all the client info. The best ad I can remember is "Lose A Dress Size in 14 days!" We had more customers than we could handle. We were booked weeks in advance.
My nutritionist ended up being a b!tch and was telling customers alot of negative things about me that we not true so I had to let her go. We sold the machine b/c we didn't have the nutrition knowledge that she had.

FYI we went through many pads. They don't last nearly as long as I thought they should for the price of them. They said it was b/c our machine never got to rest.

I'm waiting for patryk to call me about the pad, I had someone wrapped this morning, she let me feel it, definately not as warm as the other large pad. It has a dead area it seems. People are falling in love with it. I'm doing one hell of a promo to get people using it and I already had to stop it. 6appts a day get booked very quick.

patryk is a super nice guy but my conversation let me to believe that he has no interest in replacing pads regardless of how long you had it. his theory is that the cord has been stepped on or used too much. i went through many pads 1 of which only lasted a couple months. good luck, i hope they do something more for you. and, i wish you much success with your machine. sounds like you are off to a good start.

I just let the machine run with no one on it for 20 mins. I can't find a problem......I'm thinking the person last night wasn't wrapped right. She's larger, so there is a potential the elements weren't fully touching in an area? Today I could have swore I wrapped right. But I did mention to her the pad may be bad so it could have been in her head too

With larger people where there isn't much overlap causes them to think that it isn't getting hot. They can feel the difference after the point where the cord connects doesn't heat up. Once they lose some weight and the pad overlaps, they won't be able to tell a difference.

Mike, we had a pad go down after 3 months, but I bought my unit used. Try plugging the red pad in the yellow port and see what happens. also plughte yellow pad inthe red port. This will help you trouble shoot it.

Not sure what you're saying about it not heating at the ends. It is my understanding the pads are not supposed to heat at the end of the beds. So if the pad is heating from the middle towards the ends, it sounds like it is working okay.

Or is it not as hot as it used to be? Other things to check :

each port has a fuse located just above it, or beside it. Make sure fuse is good.

check the plug end to make sure the wires are making good connection. The rubber boot cover should screw loose so you can slide back from the plug end. There will be 2 wires soldered on the plug end. Check to see if they are connected, and the connection is good.

Good luck! Pads do go bad, but if you bought yours new they should warranty it. Just stay on them about it. But as much $$$ we make with the Formostar , we still do well even with buying a pad here and there. Still suxs!

I don't think there is a problem with it, I think the person was wrapped wrong and too large in the first place

Glad to hear that Mike, just be careful that your employees don't step on the cord, or that they don't try to pull the pad to wrap it too tight, both of those will increase your chances of of the pad going bad. Good luck with your machine!
