Default Formostar turns off on its own

I have a real problem this time around. The unit has been doing this on occasion. Might run for 30 mins then the timer goes to 0. Has this happened to anyone else. My only guess is it doesn't like the outlet it's on and that I need a dedicated power line.

Is it hooked to your Tmax, or other timer?

If it's hooked up through a t-max timer....you need to replace the chip inside the 3A timer. They only go to a maximum of 30min.

But odds are that you can't authorize more than 30min anyways...so that might not be the problem.

Check for loose wiring inside the unit itself.

If you bought the formostar NEW...you have 1 year warranty on it. Call the person you bought it from or Formostar Direct and speak with Jim. He'll trouble shoot it for you.

no tmax din, the contact is just filled in by a wire right now. I just have to check up on it periodically to make sure the timer isn't showing 0's.

Do any of you use Tmax with your Formostar?

I have mine set up for it, but right now it's just a jumper wire.....

I'm not too worried about it being hooked up, although it would be nice to have a little more accuracy on the computer.

My ditsy had the same problem with his test unit, tried a new outlet and it worked for him. I'm wondering if there was a bad run of these things. I have it on a dedicated outlet right now with long extension cords to test this.

our Formostars are run through tmax 3a timers ....yes....Just had to get the new chip for the 3a timer to go over 60min. Got the chip that goes up to 90min.

Works like a charm ...

This way employees can't put in a formostar single walk in and pocket the money and you have no clue how many sessions you've done...as there is no meter to count on the unit.
