Default How is everyone doing with the formostar?

OKay, I'm basically a month into my formostar officially. To get it jump started I offered it for free to my clients for 30 days. I also offered a deal for a month unlimited for only $100.00 which I think i sold 7 people on. My goal is to get a solid base going on it before i go to my normal pricing structure, by then people should see that it really works....

Yes I know I lost money, but I did create enough traffic to book this thing solid on most days, tues and thursday are the ones that seem to be left open the most.

People are starting to notice results, I've had a few people just not like it, but for the most part it is positive.

You will have a hard time getting them to pay now. JMHO

Try a teaser pack, like 3 for $99 or BOGO on a single at $80.00, then move them in to a package after that. Make sure to state that it is a one-time/one-per-customer option.

Well I knew I'd have a few free loaders, but others jumped right on it. It generated income that I wouldn't have seen at first so I think it was a good move to get the word out there.

When talking about this unit, most people just say yea right, right away. So I needed a few people to get it jump started.

1 time only 3 for $150.00 is my webspecial....

I've sold a few 20 packs to couples that wanted to share.

Giving it for free or unlimited for $100. I sell 1 session for $80, so unlimited for $100 is a huge loss.

I'm not disagreeing with you guys, but it's a hard sell in a poor economy, I don't think I would have brought in any cash this quick without this promo

Sounds like a bad idea to me. How did you bring in cash when you gave it away for free? You would have been better off charging at least $20. What do you plan on charging now? Does anyone like it, believe in it, or plan to continue using it?

Out of the 15 people that are using it, 8 paid 100.00. A few freebies just didn't like it. The others seem to love and I'd assume will stick with it.

Machine sat unused for almost a month, this was due to weather mostly, but hype is being generated now at least. The personal trainer at the gym has been a great promoter for me, but skeptics are still there.

This was a feeler for the area too, the economy slump hit my area hard already.

Singles are set at 65.00

How do you plan to get them to pay for packages when they just got a month for $100?

Make a B&A book of actuall clients of your salon. Always take before and after measurements of all clients.

Some people will lose 20+ pounds and 6-7 inches total and still not think they got results.

We did give away a few packages in trade for some butt/thigh shots. Women don't mind their after shot on the web, just not the before

Mike, talk with DIN about some marketing material. I had him design me a brochure and some mini-posters/placards. They were a tremedous help in kicking off the Formostar for use.

Plus, we listed our pricing on these materials, so people were prepared for the high cost right off. The brochures are so good, it got people asking about it. We printed 2000 or so and we put them every where. On the tanning bed, all over the lobby, in the bathroom. We had staff taking them to other businesses, etc...

It was the best money we spent. We started in October 2007 with the Formostar, and we have already made more than a new unit costs (we purchased a used machine).

I'm actually kind of glad I did my promo, it gave me the cash to fix the room up because it was dumpy at first, it also gave my staff and myself lots of experience. Most importantly, it showed me I had a problem with my machine!

The first week or so we got the Formostar all we did was wrap each other and some friends and family members, and a few customers for free- so we could get used to it.
