Default Detox support thread.....

This is the thread to post in as you are detoxing. Questions, concerns, funny stories all go here.

I'll start this off by saying that you do not have to change your normal habits (eating junk food, alcohol, etc) while on the detox but you will get better results if you do. Let your body do one thing at a time. Don't continue the bad while it's trying to cleanse itself.

Also, be sure you are drinking enough water. You'll drink 32 oz with the detox drink but that is not going to be enough. You need to take your body weight, divided in half and that is the amount of daily water. The 32 oz of the detox will be included in that. So figure out how much more you need and drink it all during the day.

You need to space out the detox drink throughout the day so don't drink it all at once. Have your 2nd jug of plain water nearby and drink that throughout the day as well.

The first day should be OK. The 2nd and 3rd day are going to be the worst. At the meeting last night, hearing the testimonials, I came to the conclusion that the more toxic you are, the worse those 2 days are going to be for you. A girl there had been through 1 year of chemo for breast cancer and her day 2 and 3 were very rough. So, if you are a smoker and/or big alcohol drinker you may want to start the cleanse on a Friday so your day 2 and 3 are Sat and Sun when you can lay a little lower from the salon. Everyone is going to have different results.

I will let you know when the conference call on this is. Anyone doing the detox should try to listen in, especially if you think this is something you might try selling. The combination of herbs in this is quite amazing.

I'll be checking this thread often so feel free to ask questions. Don't be shy (lol - as if any of you are) because what you are experiencing may be what someone else is as well.

Happy detoxing! Kathe

My recommendations for your weekly detox

OK - you are working to get some major toxins out of your body. Things that just shouldn't be in there and that will eventually cause you great harm if left and added to.

So.....

Although I didn't really change much in what I eat/drink the week I did mine I generally eat healthy anyway. Only on rare occasions do I have a beer or glass of red wine. I rarely drink soda pop because it is so bad for the body for several reasons which I won't go into here.

My suggestions are the following:

Try to (as much as you can) do avoid the following during your detox:

alcohol
soda pop
caffeine
red meat
white food (bread, pasta, rice)
smoking (all kinds)

Be sure to drink plenty of clean pure water to help flush the toxins out. You can substitute herbal (non-caffeinated) tea and drink it hot or iced for a change and that does count towards your water intake.

Try to get plenty of rest. Your body is trying to rid itself of junk that may have been there for years. It will need energy to do that so try to get enough sleep at night. (Did you know that for every hour of sleep you get before midnight your body thinks you have gotten 3? Staying up really late robs our bodies of the time it uses to heal and rejuvenate itself).

Our bodies are amazing and they will heal themselves of all kinds of abuse if we change things. It is making the decision that you want to live healthy.

Questions are welcome!

I love how you put "all kinds" of smoking haha. What about whole grain breads and pastas? Are those okay?

Also, what do you mean by the 2nd and 3rd day are going to be "the worst?" Cramping or POOPING or something?

Yes, I figured that some of you would catch that one on the smoking - lol (I grew up in the 70's)

Whole grains and whole grain pastas are great. Just stay away from anything white. White bread, white rice, white pasta.

Yes, could be any of that and even just feeling like you were hit by a truck. It really depends on the level of toxins in your body. Just remember, better out than in and it's only 7 days.

OH! I forgot something on the avoid list. Processed cheese & meats. Try to stay away from anything processed if you can. When eating cheese stick to the hard cheeses like parmesan and sharp aged cheddar. And processed meats like ham, turkey, etc which have a lot of nitrates & preservatives in them.

You can still have cheese, just make sure it is the natural hard cheeses. I like the white aged sharp cheddar, makes a nice snack. Also, have some roasted almonds on hand as they make a nice snack and will keep you away from stuff like chips.

What about soft cheeses like Brie or ones like Blue Cheese or Gorgonzola? I love those and use them when I actually cook. LOL!

Those should be ok. I'm really talking about the processed ones like american, etc. The less processing, the better. The ones you listed are just fine.

Last time someone wanted to get you food, you fired them. You're gonna give them food fetching disorders.
