Default Ultrabronz 818 new "Supra" lamps.

1996 UB 818, original 30 minute 0.3% glass with brand new Supra lamps 400V/1000's. Installed today.

Voltage 410V. (That is what I always run it at)

5 minute warm up from first light.

90 mW/cm2 on a "Solarmeter" 5.0 UVA+B and 146mW/cm2 at the glass.

If I ran it a session first, might have been a bit higher.

Disclaimer: This is not a contest of beds, lamps and if another type is better. Just what I have experienced in my enviroment.

Natureboy

How does that compare to the lamps you had in previously?

I used to get about 80mW/cm2 with that bed with new Heraus lamps and about 135 at the glass.

Nah, with that 30 minute glass, unless they are brand new pale white, full time no problem if they have done any tanning.

I did a full session in it yesterday, and feel totally fine and dark today. If I do a full Magic with the Mug 6, I am roasty for about a day after and I am a skin type 2.5.

Nothing works better than a Mug 6 Magic and then the 30 minute UB the next day. B then the A

I know some of my clients cheat and do 30 mins on one side in the UB one day and come and do 30 the next day on the other. They say it works better. Hard to say.

We have the upgraded glass in our 818. We run it at 24 min.

We back some whities down to between 18 and 20 min first time. after that, they are fine.

how old is your mug6 in the 818? At that voltage, I get 175 at the acrylic with Supras...in fact..I wont run new supras at that voltage at all.

Maybe our meters are just different....I know the 5.0's that go over 200 will meter WAY higher at the acrylic...going up to 215 or 250......but normal when you pull it away.

my older 5.0 will read 160 at the glass on a Saturn and the new 5.0 will read over 200 ..but they read the same a foot away.

just curious..why do you still do 30 min sessions? Why didn't you up the bed to 23 mins 8 years ago....you get 10 extra sessions a day at the shorter time and customers like it better.

AND your electrical drops 25% per session.

This salon has two Mug 6 Magic's beside it. So 90% of the tans are in them. I still do about 4 or 5 a day that like the long session. I guess if I wasn't so cheap, I would change the glass, or put something else in there but the Magic's by themselves do so well, I can't see doing much more HP sessions in this salon anyway.

My other salon has 24 mins 818's in it. I would like to change those ones to 18 mins in the fall.

Just did two 818's with 1.0% glass (blue) with new Supra's at 385V and I got 95 on the 5.0. Most likely due to the extra B.

95 ON THE BODY...right?

My 812 does 110 with the 18 min glass and new blue at 405 volts.... bit hot but I adjusted the canopy to just barely make it down to level so a couple inches higher which is fine for spreading out the rays a bit. Good for fatties too.
