Like I'm what? The Marketing Machine for IPL? I promise I am not making a commision off this (haha -- if only) This is not a "Pet Rock" -- it actually does something that produces results -- whether it is a concept that fits in to a tanning salon or not isn't my call -- what I can, however call -- the I Can See It ~withmyowneyes~ Results.
Yo Joe -- I wouldn't bullshit a bullshitter ya know.

These posts are so out of order.....god dam! Oh well, Hey, I'm all good with you ball busters. I like breaking balls with people willing to throw down. (you people on this thread I mean...) And I'm just naturally high strung. I believe it's the Sicilian blood realizing that there may be a drop of Portuguese blood in there somewhere...no sleep lost. Hell, if there's ever a hater's ball I'll be first in line with a ticket. Sit around and hate on eachother...sippin on drinks that someone mostlikely spit in...
BTW my place IS a shit hole and I'll never claim otherwise....it just makes the "high end" salon owners in the area feel even more stupid when they can't understand why my beds give them 10times more color than their $40K tanning monster... Must be the guy that poo pod solar Steve's meters...or a voltarc user. (Always have to get that last jab in for good measure) Last edited by engfant; 25th September 2006 at 06:45 PM.. |

But that is a whole other thread. "why people don't seek help" Note to tanning salon down the street I am a self proclaimed idiot, I'm just smart enough to surround myself with talent.

Has anyone had any experience with an IPL for laser hair removal? Or are these mainly for age spots, wrinkles?
A little off topic here, but does anyone know the regulations surrounding IPL in Canada? Thanks. |

I found this....
"To test the efficacy and safety of a new, large spot size, intense pulsed light source, the PhotoDerm VL, which omits noncoherent light adjustable within the 515-1200-nm range, in the treatment of ETE." ![]() http://rosacea.ii.net/hl/2278.html Is that what you were looking for Solarmeter? Frankie,
I read the web site. It sounds like a variation on non abrasive, crystal free microdermabrasion. It recommends five sessions to achieve what our medical grade microderm machine does in one session. It also says, "Vibradermabrasion is the new way to do microdermabrasion" There are only two ways to micro, crystals or crystal free that can really show immediate results. This one sounds like it is an abrasive vibrator. "Vibrafusion Therapy will massage the clinician’s choice of product deep into the skin producing enhanced results from the products. " So you will need to find a really good medical grade of skin care products to use with it. I just watched the infomercial demo. It is a vibrating sander for the body. It does the dermabrasion in a macro way over a wider area at one time. It then vibrates products into the skin. Frankie, do you have a paramedical aesthetician to do the treatments? Look at lots of options before you make a decision. Email Chris if you have any questions, she has been doing medically supervised skin care for the past 15 years at her place you know? Call your insurance agent too about liability. Jim |

Not a scam. The device looks like it can do what is says it will. Just a different way to do it Like tanning beds all tan people, there are different lamp and power configurations etc. Same with asethetic devices.
Some beds tan better than others and are in different price ranges. Take LED light therapy machines for example. NASA tested the devices and found that red light in the 940nm and up range actually touching the skin and blue light in the 430nm showed noticable results. If a device isn't in contact with the skin at these intensities there will be little or now visible results. Some in the tanning business are considering adding some sort of skincare services to generate additional income in a declining market. Not a bad idea if done well, otherwise it is just another way to run your business in the ground by dissapointing your clients. Do your research, understand what the device does and how it works. Have some services done by several qualified aesthetcians and see for yourself if you get results and how important the human factor is in providing these services. |

630nM is red, 660nMis red/orange.
Solarmeter, IPL is simply a Xenon Flash tube that is filtered partially and concentrated to emit at a specific point. The emitter is usually a piece of optical lexan with a smooth faced aperture window f approximately 10mm x 25mm. The Xenon flash tube is much the same as used in an automobile timing gun, or in the old disco flash units. A horshoe shaped lamp with a highvoltage trigger coil built around the flash tube. Most of the manufacturers coat the Lexan with dichroic material to filter to the desired wavelengths. Actually the just cut out some of the top end wavelength. Or the dichroic material will filter the lower wavelength depending on what they are trying to achieve. These Xenon tubes are mostly fixed in output by the physics of the tube. Hope this is helpful to anyone. ----------------------------------- |
