Default Formostar

I have an opportunity to get a used one at a great price. I've been kicking the idea around for quite some time and ready to just bit the bullet. Anyone have one and share their experience?

Take a look at Oleaslim, you can get started for far less if you just want to test the waters.

google Oleaslim or Nelly Du Vuys Spa for their number.

I wish I knew of someone close by that had one so I could use it myself before purchasing it. I'm still kicking it around.

According to the location finder there is only one in the state of Michigan and it's down by Detroit. Too far for me to drive. So if thats really true, I could have an up on so many salons in my area!

Just updated the listing for salon locations, again!

If you on it, please verify that everything is in working order...

spelling is correct, and the link actually goes to your website, or an info page for your salon.

If you're NOT on the list yet........

email to info@formostar.net and get listed today!

Upwards of 1000 unique visitors and over 5000 page views in the past few months of OFF-SEASON.

always helps the bottom line in the slow times.

That's me. I'm in Livonia, just outside of Detroit. We got ours about 2 months ago and it's doing well so far. I love using it, too. Just let me know if you want to come and visit me. I'll give you a free session to try it out. Kathe

I bought mine new from the company for $8500. Came with the warranty, discounted replacement parts and marketing materials. We sell sessions and packages:

single $79
3 session $179
6 session $339
12 sessions $599

I gave all of my premier clients (those who tan in level 3) a free session and every one came out and bought a package. Suggested to use 3 per week for at least 2 weeks and you will see results.

Our room was already set up with a facial bed. We put in a flat screen tv and dvd player. We have a few movies but most clients bring in their own. In the bathroom we have a scale that also measures body fat. We have them weight before the session and then after. Most clients lose 1 - 2# and 1 - 2% of body fat per session. I personally noticed a change in my metabolism after doing 3 sessions, 3 days in a row. It's more like my metabolism when I was in my early 30's and I'm almost 49.

We lay a huge body towel on the bed, a pillow wrapped in plastic and then covered with a towel and then another towel to cover the client.

The client wears sweats or some type of cotton clothing. They will sweat like crazy so they'll want to bring an extra set of clothes.

When they go in the bathroom to change and weight after their session I give them 2 towels and a cold bottle of water. They leave feeling pampered and thin!

Oh! After the first session expect huge exhaustion. So many toxins get taken out and you are left totally drained. It isn't bad at all after the first one unless you wait too long before sessions.

Let me know if you want to know more. Kathe

Was just thinking, i can pick up a used VHR like Giant Sun or HP bed like Chronos for that much and it would be used more frequent than the Formostar and therefore bring in more money. Or so i would guess. Yes you charge $79 per session but this is about 1 hours in use plus cleaning, preping and so on....wouldn't you think that a UV bed will make you more money for the investment eventhough you may charge $25-$35/session...it would be in higher demand than formostar.

I'm speculating........just want to investigate all angles before i'd invest that much $$$ on a new idea.

Yes you'd bring in new clients and they would also be converted on tanning or vise versa but you gotta advertise this new service and spend coin doing that to get people to know about it.

What are your thoughts on this?

Well, here are some thoughts:

1. This is an add-on sale. The person who already has a package in your tanning equipment will also buy a package in this. They won't/can't buy another tanning package to use at the same time. I have one person who spends $85/month on her tanning package and then another $339/mo on Formostar. Even if I put a HP in that room she would only switch from one package to another, not add on.
2. I have several people using this that do not tan. They were referred by current customers or the sign on the window. So it is bringing new customers to the salon that would not have come before. So far I haven't spent any money on advertising. And if you are already doing advertising you can just add this on, it won't cost any more.
3. It takes about 10 minutes of time on my part per hour (wrapping/unwrapping) and costs are under $1 per hour to run the machine.
4. This room was already set up as a spa room so it just gets used more. Although at this rate we will have to think about it having it's own room. As word gets out it is getting used more and more.

I looked at it as an added service in my salon. Something that goes along with tanning but doesn't necessarily have to be used by a tanner. And another thing that I can sell a gift card for. Let's say I have a guy that tans but his wife doesn't, I can sell him a gift card for her to use it.
