About to add a Formostar or Thermojet. how will my insurance be affected? also, is there a standard release form for client to fill out? Are there any medical conditions to be concern with? Like for someone with high blood pressure, will they be okay with doing a session?
Seems as if the sessions could be hard on certain people. The long session time, the heat, the sweating, etc... Are there certain people who should not be allowed to use these? |

Beach,
Check with the manufacture they should have a template for a release form. But yeah, If someone has heart problems, high blood pressure, lupus, is pregnant, an insulin controlled diabetic or if they have any artificial joints or plates then they should not use the system. I would also add any person coming off of addiction to certain drugs as well. I had a guy come in that was try to get off methadone (he had been on for years) But the heat and detoxing effect of the wrap just about gave him a heart attack. He had quit cold turkey and thought this would be a great way to help him detox. It did...he left higher than a kite and then was in the emergency room all night. I didn't find this out until about a week later. He signed the waiver and everything. I always tell them that if they have any concerns at all to talk with a doctor before doing the wrap. Hope this helps... I have a formostar and it really helps bring in some extra revenue. |

Did you informed your insurance carrier you were performing the infrared body wraps? Where they okay with it? Did it increase your premium?
Just wondering if insurance carriers will cover the wraps, and if they charge an arm and a leg for the coverage. |

Yes we did. I don't think that it raised it too much if at all. Its like anything else...you just have to make sure that the customer understands everything about what the wrap can and cannot do as well as all the health issues involved. Hope this helps.

Insurance went up like $100 for the year.....nothing major. But I got a new insurance company and including the formostar, my insurance went down like $700 for the year from last year. Liability is included in your lease.....I have $2million coverage for the salon....and that will include the formostar in there as well. I just gave my insurance broker the website for the company and told them....this is what we are doing. that was it. I explained what it was....and it was nothing to it.
