Default New to Infrared Body Wraps!

I've looked all over the web for information on the Formostar and Thermojet? systems. These are the only two I can find anything about. I have seen a few posts about these systems on here. I am thinking of buying one of them for the salon I'm in. I need more information from you guys about this if you don't mind!

How much space is required? Are they really delivering the results reported on the web sites? Are the packages easy to sell?

I have a teeth whitening system set up in a salon that is only 2 weeks old and is going gang busters! I am thinking of adding this to that business. This is in a full service salon/day spa btw.

Thanks a bunch!
Kim

Hi Kim,

There is a ton of info on this board already. What I would do if I were you would be to do a search on Formostar and Therojet in the search feature. Read all the threads and then ask more questions if you have them. A few of us have the Formostar and are doing well with it. I think some also have the Thermojet. There are threads in this forum and in the main forum on it as well.

Welcome - Kathe

Question Re: New to Infrared Body Wraps!

Thanks for replying, I have read so many threads on this subject. Some are years old. It just seems that Thermojet is the newer player on the market and now that theres been quite a few months of use, I wanted to open discussion to the differences you guys have seen in the two systems.

So, from what I've read:
  • Thermojet heats up quicker than Formostar, which is cautionary to some, better for others.
  • Some states are shutting down operations unless an Esthetician is performing the services, is this still happening?
  • What exactly are the results you're getting from the wraps? Inch-loss? Metabolism boost? Pain Relief? How are you marketing this service for the best results?
  • Other than Arbonne, what gels and creams would you suggest to use with the infrared body wraps? I'm looking into the Vanish system as well, but what else is out there?
Here's a new question that I haven't seen asked on here yet: has the technology changed over the past, say 5 or so years? So, if I had the opportunity to buy a system that is a few years old but hardly used, should it produce the same results as the newer systems do or has the technology changed?

Thanks for your patience and answering my questions... I'm so new at all of this!

Well I can only speak to Formostar as that is what I have. I have had mine since November 2006 and am quite happy with results both in personal results and income results. I have someone wrapping right now who was one of my first clients and she has used it faithfully once a week since I got it.

As far as what you'll see it is different for each person and people will use it for varying reasons. Generally though it burns calories and helps to rid the body of toxins. I have read studies done in the UK where they are using infrared heat for cancer treatments because it rids even heavy metals from the body.

As for other creams and gels I can't speak to that because I'm sold on Arbonne. They work so I haven't really tried anything else.

I bought my machine, as I said, in late 06 so I don't know about the technology changing, maybe someone else can speak to that question. And I think SunSally has a Thermojet so you can ask her about that.

Hope that helps.

Kathe, What creams/gels are you using from Arbonne, and how are you using them with your formostar?

I use the Vanish products which include a pre-shower scrub, an in shower massage gel and a lotion which I have the client put on before the wrap.

We also promote the detox products to go hand in hand including the 7-day body cleanse, the detox rescue wash for the shower after the wrap and the re-mineralizing body lotion to replenish any mineral loss from the wrap. Clients love the feel of their skin after using these products and with the Vanish products will see a decrease in cellulite.

What is your rec. in using the vanish lotion and the re-min. lotion if they have both of them? I mean in what order are they applied if they have both. Do you rec. the Vanish serum also?

They are going to use the vanish before they wrap and the re-min after they shower, after their wrap. The serum is used in the shower with the massager.
