Waxing?

Hi - I am starting a small (very small) tanning salon. I will be the only employee. I have been looking into some ideas for add on sales that wouldn't take up too much time - as I will be the only one there I am already doing spray, just looking for a little more $$ to start with.

Anyway, does anyone know what kind of license or certification you need to do this in your own salon? I am in WI. I did search on google, but all I could come up with are the beauty schools. Do you have to get a cosmetology license, or is there just a class for the waxing alone?

You should be able to get an esthetic license through a beauty school. You don't need the hair stuff.

Waxing requires an esthetic license. There are skin care schools along w/cosmetology schools. Each state has hourly requirements to get a license. I don't know if nail salons that offer eye, lip & chin waxing have licenses, however, you need to be very careful when incorporating waxing & tanning.
If you have the room, though, you can always hire an esthetician or rent it out to one.

We do waxing and it does a good business here. It's simple to set up. Just today we've done a back wax for $55. Took 20 minutes.

Well since I can do them I get it all. With my massage therapist we do a 50/50.
