That was meant as a general term for everybody claiming the HP beds are too hot. All im saying is it comes down to providing the propper cooling for the unit. Thats why I like people to try the bed out at my salon and not just some random place because you have no idea what the other place is doing as far as cooling. Brian I do realize that you are very Knowledgeable in the tanning industry and normally I agree with all of your post but for you to say that the Tanses equipment are boat anchors tells me that your not as knowledgeable as i thought. That boat anchor as you call it is my most popular peice of equipment and made me over $60,000 this year. I only have a 5.0 meter but as soon as I get a chance I will post a pic of the 200 meter reading |

When you measure, measure with the bottom edge of the meter placed on the bottom acrylic facing up.

The discussion was a 200 + reading at the lamp not at the mattress Its obviously not going to have a 200+ reading at the mattress 24 500 watt lamps =12,000 watts Parabolic reflectors and single filters make it tan like its 36,000 |

You need to be clearer about your readings, you mention metering at that acrylic in the other post. To us that would mean you have the meter on bench, forget that you know it's a matress version, I for one do not know that. Your 200 at the lamps is nothing great, so don't get too excited, The magic can push those numbers without a problem. The only thing that matters is the number you get in the center of the bed at body level.

200 at the lamp? Like EliteMike said the Magic does that with no problem. It will peg a 5.0 meter to the max at the lamps. What does it put out at the bench level and how many hours will it stay there?

This is true but he also said you would have to put it on its highest setting which most of you claim you dont do because its to hot. Im not saying the magic isn't a good bed I actualy think Sun Italia makes very nice equipment. I even have a Sun Sport and a Chronos in my salon and they tan great. The problem is you guys talk about the magic likes its the second coming and the truth is there are beds out there that are just as good if not better. Heres my point The Covex uses 500watt lamps at 220v 100amp single phase with parabolic dichoric glass reflectors and single metalic filters and it gets 200 on the meter at the lamp for the full life of the lamp with out stepping the power up or down. So you get the same kind of results if not better depending on what your settings are for your magic but with out all the bells and whistles that make it so complicated to work on and relamp. The Magic uses 1200watt lamps and 220volt 3 phase with the old style alluminum reflectors and the 2 glass filter system and as you said the only way to get those 200 readings at the lamp is to have brand new lamps and have the bed at its highest setting. Oh and Brian I have no Idea where your getting this high UVB crap. You must be thinking of the matrix or maybe black sun. |

Just post some numbers with pics at the bench, not the website jargon.

That is not at the highest setting. The way you made it sound the
Convex was hitting 200 at the bench. To hit 200 at the bench, it might have to be at the max. It will hit 200 at the lamps at level 2 with 6 more levels to go. As far as complicated to work on, I have 2 Magics and I have never done anything to them but clean them. I know EliteMike has had some trouble with a used Magic he bought and someone else has had trouble with one and there is a dispute over some funds. |

I know the magic inside and out now. I've had my hands on every component. There really isn't much to it. My issues were created most likely in the move from one place to another, also fixing something that wasn't broke in the first place.

Come on, still no pics of the Tanses?
Here is what a real unit is capable putting out. This... ![]() ...and this... ![]() See, no website jargon here, just the facts. So much for old fashioned aluminum reflectors and two plates of glass. ![]() You can take those "Parabolic, Dichloric Coated" glass bowls and fill 'em with candy cuz that's all they are good for.
