i used a thin screw driver to them through the towel in case you don't want to break a nail.

Only the last run of beds ,wich were silver in color had the underperforming ballast. They were all replaced with the proper ballasts. You will need the xtra 2 mf caps to get the right zip from your machine.Do not sit back and wait for sun italia to call you back.Speak to roman and give him shit that no one got back to you. They are sometimes disorganized ,but they do care.

^^^Yup, need the extra caps. That is the problem with the output.

What exactly does a capacitor do in the lamp circuit?
I know they build up and store and discharge voltage... but what are they for relative to running lamps that affects UV output?

So there would be no effect on meter readings with "bad" or too-small-mf if the power supply was "perfect"?
But when power falls lower the "good" caps would keep output up... at least for a short time until they discharged their stored extra voltage? Is that right or wrong? And if voltage increased above "perfect" the caps would keep storing extra V for later use? So meter readings would not go up?

Beats me. Where can I get such caps. Do they have to be 660v or can they be as low as the 308v that the lamps run at.

PER SIDE.....dru on that bed would be just 800.
over 500 for VHR units ....800 is a bit low for hp....900 would be a good target. We used to do 1 hour sessions on 818's putting out 85 on the body...so a dru of 2350 apx per side. Tanned real well if I do say so myself. My 2021s with new lamps will only put out about 100 at the body. remember the Mattress is NOT THE BODY..have the meter at belly button height for average tanner. Fat people get more color. Also, the meter won't read the side banks of lamps..but there is a good amount of light (photons) hitting you from those sides too that the meter misses. 210 incoming volts is great. The most important number for you is WHAT IS THE METER READING at the Acrylic. Push the meter right up to the acrylic and find the BEST NUMBER for each lamp. This number should be between 155-175 with new Supra's in it. if you are not getting this...or you get this on some lamps but others are at 130..then you have either some low outputting ballasts or some tired capacitors. Make sure the "back reflector" the removable part to replace lamps isn't fried. A dull, or scaley reflector back is easy to fix and ads a bunch more output per lamp.

Thanks again Drew.
I just checked at 13 minutes in on a session. All lamps at glass, remember my acrylics are MIA, are reading 133 to 135. I was surprised by how close they all came in at. This includes new and old lamps. I have all new down the center and on some sides. So it seems I am coming in a little short.

I can get the covers for the back of the lamps chrome dipped. Good idea? Heck, I can get all the reflectors chrome dipped - but it would be a pain to remove all that stuff.

How does chrome hold up to all that heat? I think you're better suited getting them ceramic coated (chrome like finish but heat resistant to like 1500 degrees or something). Unless you're kidding...
Also, putting in caps that are too small mf will burn your ballasts. Trust me, I know. It may only happen to 1 or 2 ballast on that circuit though. Nothing is scarier than when you smell an electrical fire in your salon. It takes a couple days to air out that smell too. Keeps everyone scared. |

What I do not get is if the bed needs 32 caps, why did it come with 30?

Ya, the "small ones" on top the bigger ones. Whats up with that. Oh well.... lol
Heck, the price of the bed is right. If I have to run it at 30 minutes, no biggie.

Meters read 10 points higher when conservative republicans use them. It's not the bed's fault...
