Question Magic 636

We are looking very hard at this bed. we do not have high pressure in the salon
at this time. i would love to have this bed but only if it could pay for it self.
anyone out there that has this bed or high pressure in general could give us some info about it i would very much appreciate it. we do have 50 lamp vhr beds and we are in a big city.

What are you currently charging for entry level?
What are you currently charging for a high end VHOR unit?

The Magic 636 needs to be priced at about $30-$35.00 walk in & maybe max discount of a 10 pack for $250.00.

Lamp life will be about 800 hrs (they claim 1000 hrs)
12 minute sessions.

800 hrs x 60 minutes per hour = 48,000 minutes ÷ 12 minutes per session = 4000 sessions. 4000 sessions @ $25.00 per session = $100,000.00 per lamp change.

This bed could be had for around $38,000.00 now, looks like a real good investment to me.

When running this unit you will need added AC & will definetely want to have the exhaust ducted out of the salon.

We charge $5.00 for base walkin and $15.00 for the vhr. we are in a higher income area and we have some people that complain about the $15.00 charge. i guess that is why they still have their money. what is the secret to getting the higher upcharge to the high pressure compared to the vhr. hp hasn't taken off here like it has in some other parts of the country. the closest hp is about 6 miles and the next closest is about 8 miles and i am in one of the largest cities in the country. i just don't want to make a mistake.

Show special was $35M. I couldn't resist. I haven't tried one with the new 1.7% b glass, so I got the 1% and 1.7% both in case it's too much.

I burn easily, but Mrs. Millhouse agrees with you. Therefore, I'll probably be changing to 1.7.

I have one of these little babies and let me tell you my customers love it. I have some who just treat themselves once a week but at 25.00 a pop that is ok. If you market it right it will pay for itself 10 times over.

Magic 636 is guaranteed at least 1000 hours. I think I read somewhere else that James up in Canada is already at 1200 hours and still rolling in the dough. Nobody in the industry offers this kind of guarantee. They can't because it's a patent on the technology. All because of our triac board.

The only thing I can find wrong with this bed is the time it takes to change the lamps.

One of the advantages to adjustabilty is that if you are time constrained or lazy, you can just do part of the bed at a time. When you put the new lamps in ,say 12 of them ,just adjust those 12 lamps down to a low level. Then just keep a log of each lamp and then when you do the rest ,just balance the bed to your liking.Truly a lazy man's system.

New fan is nice, but for cooling under the bed not sure it really does anything. The new acrylic supports (which are needed) seem to block the air flowing directly under the acrylic. Don't think they thought of the two systems working in conjuction at the time.

Nobody should ever say "So and so (high pressure) hasn't really taken off in this area...or I don't know if MY customers will be willing to fork over x dollars for this bed.

First of all, why quote walk-in, single visit pricing - if you're running your store(s) half right, you shouldn't be selling many singles at all but rather packages and memberships that create the illusion of the bed being more affordable.

Second, there is no such thing as 'high pressure' or really whatever 'not taking off in my area' - this simply means that there are dumb *** salon owners around that have not been able to CREATE a lucrative market for HP. Or, perhaps you just don't know these competing salons' numbers and only hearing from the few customers that buyed, tried, and came back to you. What about all the people that you may NEVER see again because they're now happily forking over the $20 or so average per session at these competing salons?

Bottom line is for the most part, all customer bases are very similar. You got your WHALE clients, your cheap asses, and a whole bunch of in betweens. YOU can create the market, the demand, and therefore the income. Can you sell? Train? Excite? Market? If you answer yes, go get one and watch your income go way up. If not, don't do it cause it will be a slow road to even make your lease payment.

The ones with more discretionary income won't have as much time to come in each month. So if educated and sold right they will opt for the best equipment(HP).

Which only takes 3-4 sessions a month to maintain that luscious tan year around but will gladly pay you a premium not to come in every other day.

Not all HP machines are created equal!

Just because you add a high pressure machine doesnt automatically mean you start raking in mega money!

Arming your staff so they can educate your customers about high pressure tanning isn't easy as pie!
