Question HP Replacement Lamps

Everybody has an opinion on the best florescent replacement UV lamps. What about HP replacement lamps?

What HP replacement UV lamps are preferred and why? I am looking at 400w and 500w R7S lamps

Depends on the application.

If it's a Sonnenbraune bed or another bed that runs really HOT, then you need to use a Philips HPA400W/30S or HPA400W/30SIV. They have a larger diameter & will hold up much better in hotter units. Try using any other brand lamp & you will be lucky to get 200 hrs out of them before they become pregnant & black.

Cosmedico Ariana lamps are pretty good on output, yet they are pricey.

Heraeus usually gives the most bang for the buck.

Here are some UVA testing results on popular HP lamps.
Philips HPA 400W/30S = 43.69
Philips HPA 400W/30SD = 46.04
New Technology = 54.68
Cosmedico Ariana 400W = 51.50
Cosmedico Cosmotech 400W = 47.58
Heraeus Classics 400W = 58.20
Heraeus Magic Sun 400W = 59.90

The Heraeus is the most widely used HP lamps in New Equipment.

Thanks, John

These would be replacements for the Royal Sun 44/6 and 36/3 Turbos facials.

The Heraeus or Ariana will do well for you. You should have no heat issues with those units.

One of my goals is to learn how to meter lamp performance for myself. I want to become as educated as possible on lamps. I had 15 years of experience within the industry, I have a good foundation to start and better in-house experts to drive insane with all my questions..

My expert here, tell me that they are very comparable in metering if not a little on the better performance side as compared to other brands of High Pressure lamps.
