Hey Vito,

Where did you get a 5.0 HP meter ??

Those are very rare indeed, and have only been made for a few rabid meterheads. I've never sent one to Italy.

Anyway... find some way to upload the jpg's - I wanna see them!

Oh yes!

I've metered that info too, but sorry I didn't take the pic.

I used an infrared thermometer, and the value was 38 - 40 celsius degrees pointing the mattress.

Glass reflectors are great for absorbing IR rays.

Ahhhh ha - you DON'T have a SolarmeterŽ 5.0 "HP" meter. It goes up past 199.9 and keeps going all the way to 2000. Biggest reading ever was from M&C on some kind of Sunboard (I think) which read 377 mW/cm˛ near glass !!

They posted a pic somewhere but I can't find it.

Beat,

What lamps are used? Wattage?

Those are by far some of the highest meter readings I've seen!

What is the maximum session time?

Hi John,

these numbers are referred to a 500 watt plug in lamps driven by 500 watt ballasts.

The hot produced and the energy consumption is just the half of a 1000 watt lamps, but as you can see it doesn't affect the (HIGH) output.

Session time is 12 minutes each side (24 minutes total) Session time could be shorter chaging just couple of things.
But IMHO, with 180/190 mw of UVA for 12 minutes, it's deliver a great tan.

Since they are manufacturers they could put 1000 watt lamps but they believe that the unit is strong enough in this way.

They start to put reflectors glass (as optional) in their equipement more than a year ago and they are by far the most knowledgable people in this kind of reflectors in Italy.

I don't know if you will have the chance to see it in US in the future, but was a great plesure for me to take the numbers on their units.

Here a glass metering:

Interesting what the right reflector can do...as I had the privlage to measure this glass with different reflector and was not this impressed.

Outstanding output with 500 watt lamps.

Nice looking bed also.

Hi Marty,

yes, optic is one of the most fascinating science. Since Leonardo Da Vinci, the men works hard to try to have the best with less power/energy waste.

Try to lower the entropy at the minimum amount is the given dictate since early lights.

Than many salon owner can't afford the cost for require and settings high kw demand.

This is the higher output I've ever seen in a 500 watt lamp too.

Oh yes, the bed! I'm almost forget about it I'm totally "absorbed" about output that I forget to post some image.

I will post some pics about it as soon as I can.

Ciao,

Vito
