Default Magic with MUG 6

Changed my Magic to MUG 6 tonight. It now runs SUBSTANTIALLY cooler with higher a, and more b (around 1.6% versus 1.0%). With this glass, this bed surely must be the best performing HP unit available. Thanks to Patryk for his assistance.

We have one with the Mug 6 glass. This is a great bed. I have both the Matrix and a Magic. I like the room presence of the Matrix but I love the tanning experience of the Magic. We are planning on buying more Magic's and we are going to put a platform underneath it just like they do at the tanning shows...

We have not had the magic long enough to substantiate the lamp life...but can you imagine if it is correct...your customer for their $20.00 session price will have the same intense tan as their first session with new bulbs! How do you choose another HP if this turns out to be true?

I changed my Platinum lamps at 1,400 hrs.I have also seen this same lamp run in a Chronos for 1200 hrs.And great readings with about 800 hrs on a Magic.!

1400 hrs was pushing it on the Platinum ,that was fully cranked and the transformer on the 400 tapp.It was still reading over 100 on the matress.

You have 800 hours on your magic?
Have you taken advantage of the Magic's steps?
Have you had to up the level so it meters the same as day one?
How has it worked for you?
I really love this bed and I love the presentation of this bed..."the voice" it really adds a flair...I thought when I tanned on the bed..."wow they over delivered"

I have one Magic with about 800 hours still putting 105 on the acrylic on 380 tap but canopy lamps are turned to max. Though I have clients saying that bed is more intense then my other Magic with 200 hours on it turned right down.

All I know is that with 800 hours it still tans like a m*therf*cker and clients can't get enough of it.

I just wonder if after 1000 hours the radom lamp will start burning out like an UB 818 after 800 hours. Thus making it harder to keep it level.

Natureboy

Have you thought about flipping the top lamps and the bottom lamps? I figure most people run their canopy lamps at a much higher level then their base lamps. Therefore the canopy should degrade faster. Either that or when it is time to do a lamp change only the canopy will be required. Owners should be able to get even more hours out of the base lamps.

Thumbs up

I also have the full MUG 6. Can't imagine having it without the MUG glass.
Amazing machine. Clients love it.
Will get another for sure.

Yes, I will most likely be able to change the canopy first and keep running the base for a while after. Once again, saves more money. This bed definelty combines the best for client and salon owner.

Yesterday was the first time I could lay in this bed for the whole 12 minute session. There can't be a bed out there hotter. OMG if this is true about the lamps, why would anyone buy any bed but the magic?
Tonya
Ps. Try and sell your clients the Cal Tan CT7 packette when using the bed there first time, if makes all the differnce in the world, I can't believe my color I got yesterday laying the full time with that lotion.

Nature,

How many minutes are you running the Magic sessions?

I am using the upgraded (1.0%) glass, not the full Mug 6. I run both my Magics with that glass at 10 mins max. This way, I can get 6 HP sessions an hour out of those two beds alone. Makes for some nice $$ when it is busy.

Next year, I want to change to the full Mug 6.

What glass setup do you have/tanned in ???

With the Replacement Clear Glass and Mug-6 installed, I've got VHR's that are hotter than this bed.

10 minute sessions, and this bed setup rocks as far as performance is concerned. Won't even break a sweat during the session!

cost me an extra 1/2 a leg, but WELL worth it in the long run.

You bet Sparky, same here. And with 13x13 rooms with open 12 foot ceilings, and 3.5 tons of air dedicated to each room as I have it, the A/C rarely turns on the compressor.

Many that have tried the Magic and said it was too hot either is a wuss or has not tried it in a properly set up enviroment.
