Default No Uvb in HP

So I found a disty in Canada that sells the aclaim. I emailed them to ask how much uvb the unit emits. this is his reply:

Hi Tammy . . it's my understanding that there isn't any . .that's the whole concept of high pressure HP (no possible surface damage)

Can someone tell me how much UVB there is?

What an embarrasment the HP industry can be in Canada.

Is it a Heatland bed? Who is the distributor?

Stupid is as Stupid Does !!!

All the more reason to keep the bed costs HIGH on this equipment, keeps the lemmings out of touch.

When I was in Orlando and it was being unveiled, I asked this same question and the sales guy there told me "It's not a "burning bed" like the Matrix" (which is more funny, given that they completely copied the Matrix look!). With that level of ignorance when talking to potential customers about HP, I decided I probably wasn't interested. Too bad - I generally think Heartland is one of the good ones, but not thrilled how they are approaching this bed.Assume it is a traditional low uvb, not aggressive HP.

Well we are in Kansas City Missouri right now, so we are going to go directly to heartland to see the beds ourselves. We'll see what kind of educational response we get there.

Just take a 6.0 UVB meter and find out for yourself!

It is relatively low UVB about .8 or .9% , nothing like the new stuff putting out 1.5 or 1.8%

The Acclaim will provide a more traditional HP type tan, very little chance of burning, lots of brown!

Well the sales lady there at hearland wasn't sure either. She said very low, not more than 5%. I find that hard to beleive. I am also instantly turned off when they bash other beds. She asked if we've been looking at other new HP units, and we said yes, at the Magic 636 and the King. she says oh well this will tan better than those. How does she know that?

Could you imagine an HP unit with about 5% UVB.

You would simply get MURDERED!

Don't you love educated sales people!

Just another fine example as to why you should buy HP only from people who know and understand this style of equipment.Choosing the right bed is only part of the equation. You have electrical, venting, marketing, staff training and a plan B in case all of the above fails. And then even if you get all of the above correct.... what if your market changes and you have to make adjustments to the plan? Everyone that sells beds is pretty well now selling HP.Just like everyone is selling sunless units.

sounds like a good old fashioned VHR-style bed to me

UVA at 63 and UVB around 3.0 = 5%

63-3=60

3/60 *100 = 5%
