Default HP help.

Got a friend who has a velocity. Is there any way to make this unit perform better? I heard something about bumping up volts from 230 to 240. will this help? Don't care about voiding warrentee as I think is done anyways. Any different glass? Any suggestions would be helpful

The unit initially had cooling issues. I would be concerned bumping the voltage up may cause even more unwanted heat in the unit.

You could most likely find some new glass, but the unit would need to be recertified.

John...Canada is not regulated.....

Cove...if it had cooling issues, doesn't it have exhaust you can connect to exhaust the heat out? IF it does have cooling issues then upping the voltage would really be a concern. Glass can be changed to allow more UVB through for stronger results....but i'll tell you what, that doesn't do a huge difference either, nothing to pee your pants over, so i'd say if she can sell it cheap to someone and get rid of it, that would be her best bet.

I could introduce her to other people who bought the wrong HP so she does not feel alone.

What kind of heat issues exactly? is this something that the bed could be modified, fans installed, air into the unit, anything?

Modifying this POS is a waste of money. It will never yield the output you want from it and you will spend alot of money trying.

Just unload it.

Change the glass and up the voltage. Provided she has it exhausted and cooled very well to begin with and is in a large room with at least 3 tons going in there.

It all depends on her set up on what she can risk with uping the voltage.

The problem with selling this unit is that she paid$50,000 for this unit when the exchange rate for Canada was 50%. now she owes around$30,000 i think, but how can you sell a POS period, let alone used and has owning close to what you can buy brand new.

Install a "mushroom" exaust fan on the roof and duct into that. Get voltage up to 240 245. Hope for the freaking best.

It isn't a POS, it is just supposed to be a lower priced hp unit...was designed to sell at 30k...and was supposed to have a moveable arm that went up.....that said , the lamps were all supposed to be closer to the body , but in its setup now, it is no better than an average vhr with lower uv-b lamps. It works, just not a good investment.

Just like all the rest of the ETS crap. I feel for her in trying to sell that unit for $28,000 used. I'm afraid there will be no bids on that listing.

It isn't made by ETS. In fact, ETS has made it much better than the POS it starts as.

I had heard they were melting parts when they first came out. ETS did some retrofitting something to make it work better. But as far as I know, many disty's (ETS) don't even want to sell them. Too many issues.

Dam, just run it for 25 mins. That will get some brown.
