| Veteran | During Busy season thread kept me coming back Alan. Wouldnt have been on the site but the thread was intersting. During busy season when you dont have a lot of time; theres not a whole lot of threads that are interesting. No new beds etc. PureTan Thread was interesting. ALL 3 tanning sites dont have any good threads right now that will keep you coming back. ![]() |

There are too many different angles, questions, fights and other non-related stuff to the original thread. Why even have a thread name? Why not just everyone post in on single thread on the entire site? It is called organization for good reading. It's about making smooth reading for the site. Does anyone read other forum sites other than tanning? Threads never get that "all over the place' unless it is some basement forum. Springbook: Just start another thread, it's that simple. |

| VENDOR Join Date: Nov 2004 Posts: 387 | Personally I hate reading long threads. Start a new one up. Just for that topic "Magic Sucks" "Poor support" I think Shari made her point that she hates the Magic, it doesn't work, and the Company she bought it from sucks. Not her words, but in a nut shell. I think the people that have a Magic did a excellent job trying to help her. Should the company that sold it to her help her, of course. But there is always two sides to a story, and since they don't come online to defend themselves. Why keep beating a dead horse. I'm always online, I will sell you a Magic, Saturn, King, or Leonardo and give you great support. If anyone has a problem with Miracle Sun support, please email me or call me.Would love to help make you a happy camper. | Off The Chain Moderator Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: The Sun Doctor, Califon, NJ Posts: 6,898 | Shari, Here are the numbers I got on a Magic 636 with 600+ hours on it. Owner level settings on lamps are 1, 2, 3 on level 8 and 4-15 om level 6. The level of customer adjustability is 130 mw/cm² A+B on high and 90 mw/cm² A+B on the lowest setting which gives it +/- 40 mw/cm² A+B of adjustability. Voltage at rest: 395 Voltage running: 373 Output in mw/cm² Top 130 A+B 1.91 B 14 Med/Hr. @ 200j Bottom 85 A+B 1.24 B 8.2 Med/Hr. @ 200j Turn up the lamps and see what you get. When was the last time all of the cassettes have been removed, the glass removed, and all sides cleaned? See if after you set the lamps and clean the glass that you are able to match those numbers. |

FYI: to convert Brian's (almost) unique CIE 200 J/m² per MED readings to FDA 156 J/m² just multiply by 1.28. So: Top: 14.0 x 1.28 = 17.9 which is 13.4 min to 4 MED. (240 / MED.hr = Te) Brian - if you want to send me that meter I'll re-do it to FDA for free. And if they ever standardize on 200 I'll change it back (for $10000 haha). |

| Super Star Join Date: Nov 2004 Posts: 806 | Brian, Thanks for the info...the machine was broke down and cleaned throughly on Jan 12 -07...it took me about 4 and 1/2 hours to do it...I however do pop the acrylics and do a quick wipe down and clear glass wipe down every 2 weeks as well as a filter clean...I have yet to get the numbers you just posted...even when brand new. Every monday I do a meter read on all my beds to document the output. I will go in SUnday after we close and break it down and do a complete clean and see if that helps any. But you can understand my problem seeing that from what I was told before buying the machine and then what I have AFTER purchase is totally different. Not to mention that it has been 1 YEAR and still not the results that I was told... Im still intrigued that Bob's machine seems to be putting out numbers sorta close to mine (60's) on the bench when pushing the bed to its limits and no one seems to think that is strange? ps> Al, you folks are trying to make this a personal issue...this is quite frankly a business situation and a piece of equipment is not working properly that was sold to me. I have requested help in getting the damn thing working...the help that i received didn't work...I have tried my best for 1 whole year to figure this out...guess what? I cant...and no one from the company seems to think I know what the hell Im talking about. But I do. |

Not her words, but in a nut shell. Al, You are correct with only one thing in that statement..."Not her words" MY POINT IS: I purchased a tanning bed that was by all accounts going to deliver a great High Pressure Tan and no other machine came close to the 130mw output on the body...I would BLOW the competition away with it. Can you not understand that the bed is not outputting as it is suppose to, there are stripes down each side of clients bodies if they have no existing tan and there is only 200 hours on the machine!!!!!!! IF no one in the world but me is seeing this...then why in the hell isn't it fixed? You all should have enough manpower to get this corrected. It's really easy to provide customer service when there is NO ISSUE...but when you have an issue is the true test... |

Bob didn't say what setting the bench lamps were... maybe also #3. But he's not cranked to the max for his "60ish" on the bottom. How many settings are there? Like 10 or something? Anyhow... if Shari's bed at 200 hours is set to near the maximum... it would seem that she'd be up over 130 on a 5.0. Hopefully the UVB and MED/hr would also be similar to above readings... if the glass is really MUG 6. Shari - if your meter is real old (like below serial # 6500) - it is possible the sensor could tip on an angle inside the box... which would make it read somewhat low. If you want to send it here I'll check and re-calibrate it if needed. No charge. If you are near Atlanta(?) the solar noon (1:35pm) clear sky sun reading (out in an open area away from buildings, trees) should be ~5.2 now. If there is any haze or smog the reading will be less. If you are somewhere else... I can enter your zip code in a program and it will tell what the clear sky total UV (A+B) should read at any time of day.

| Moderator | Shari Are you sure that the columns are set up right meaning that each column has to be put in with matching number. Could be that column number 1 is in column number 6 space and could be backwards in the unit. Who did the installation? Just a thought |

| Off The Chain Moderator Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: The Sun Doctor, Califon, NJ Posts: 6,898 | The bed only assembles one way. The bottom will read lower then the top cuz it has 400's in the bottom center but 85mw on the bottom is still tanning. This was done for more comfort. The original setup was 1000's all around and was a little more toasy on the back side. |

The mystery continues. I doubt if your glass or reflectors would be dirty enough to cause a 20-30 point drop in output. It might be worth the cost to send Brian down there on a Lear Jet. Or maybe he'll drive to Florida for a spring break soon (girls going wild haha) and stop on the way down.
