Default HP lamps

I have a mattress hp and vertical hp.

I need to start looking for replacements.

They are Black Sun Infinities. Was told that both beds had 500 watt lamps. Not the case.

Vertical has Dr Kern HXE (i think is right) 300-500 watt.
Mattress has ummm (400 watt made in Germany) That is all I can tell you on those.

What would you use to re lamp?

Ziti's vintage 1991 Model 4.0 is to old now to care what they'd meter! When is that thing gonna break so you can finally order a new one. Geeeeze.

BUT - if those are orginal Blacksun glass... be careful of the MED/hr increase with new lamps!

The Black Sun units will work fine with a 400W Gy9,5 lamp. It is usually a bit cheaper than a 300-500W Gy9,5 lamp. If the unit runs excessively hot then use the 300-500W lamp, it will have a slightly lower output, but will give a better life in the hotter units.

What is the model of the Dr. Kern unit?

John, I don't have a Dr. Kern unit, my Infinity booth has Dr. Kern lamps in it.

All I really know about the glass is that the booth glass is 2 ml thick and the mattress is 3ml thick. I do know that the booth is more reddening. No one has gotten over exposed in the mattress, not even ms. lillywhite

Got a ball park price on the lamps you are suggesting?

ps. Steve I do have the 7.0 as well. You made that old dinasor meter to well Yeah I know I need to update my meters

Frankie, i'll let you know on Tuesday.....

I am replacing my Dr. Kern Viva 4's facial lamps....on Monday (i'm closed and will be doing lamp changes.) They have the Dr. Kern 400watters in there that give AMAZING results. getting readings like 120 on the face with 500hours on them.

I'm putting in the Supra 300-500 watters in there and i'll let you know what i will get and the results tanwise, not just numbers.

The lamps are the same....a 300 - 500 lamp is the same as a 400 lamps or a 500 lamp...

The lamp you can use is a 500 watt plug in......29 bucks

The supras will be higher in uv-b and black suns may NOT want more uv-b..depending on your marketing....if you want lower uv-b....buy Phillips ...same price but less B.

I took the originals that came with my Dr. Kern bed....and they are 300-500W also. Drew is correct, they are the same.

Supra's metering 135-140+ mils on the face and 1 of my facial wiring is all messed up...otherwise insane amount.

ppl are going in Irish and coming out Jamaican.

That's impossible. The Irish would come out American Indian! If they even survived 140 "mils" on the face.

The 400W Plug in is not the same as a 300/500W plug in.
The 400W has a smaller diameter, is a bit shorter, has a different gas fill & pressure also.

The 400W will run a bit hotter & have optimal output with a 400W ballast. The 300-500W lamp will run a bit cooler on a 400W ballast & will also give a slightly longer life.

My Dr. Kern Viva 4's came originally with the Dr. Kern 400W watt facial lamps......straight from the Manufacturer in Germany shipped directly to me. When i changed the facials......they were 300W-500W facials that were in there from Dr. Kern themselves. Not 400W specific.
