Default Hopefully no one wants to use the magic on Sunday

So we worked our A$$ES off tonight to move my transformer out of the room and above the ceiling. Well after a near major screw up where our rig slipped when the transformer was suspended, we finally got it onto the new platform that sits about 16 feet up. Took about an hour or so to redo the conduit and make it all pretty to the transformer. We actually didn't waste any wire and had a few feet extra from the original run.

So I'm up front with my dad doing the wiring from the conduit to the disconnect box and I hear my name being called. I knew it was bad. Turns out we didn't think about one thing. When the transformer was up front, #1 came to the transformer and #4 left it. now we have #1 coming and going. Well there is no way to connect #1 to the 400V side as of right now. My bed is out of commission unless we can find either a hardware store or an electrical store open on Sunday.

Everything was going smoothly too, got about an extra foot in the room, it should free up a lot of ambient room temp. That sucker gets hot and stays hot for a long time "the transformer Tammy". Most importantly, it will be soo much quieter.

I'll actually be able to keep a stool in the room now...this room never was meant to contain a bed this large.

When I had the bed turned diagonally in the room, my jaw dropped. That is a sexy bed from an angle. If i can enlarge the room like I plan, I'd waste a lot of space just to see it like that. There is just something sweet about looking straight down the bed towards the extra fan. Only problem I can see is that I'd have to keep the column fan filters cleaned constantly so there isn't any dust showing.

Another thing I figured out is the perfect spot for the speakers. Right now they are behind the head. Well as you Magic owners know this can drown out the sound pretty damn quick. It can be comfortable listening in the bed, but loud as hell outside the bed. I think I'm going to mount my little speakers in between the columns off that access plate that screws on. This should eliminate the need to have the volume cranked all the way, even if they do, the fans of the bed will drown out the sound leaving better. Hopefully the complete opposite of what I have now.

I'm trying to keep the bed as far back as possible, Right now the vent tube is getting a little pinched with the canopy raised all the way, I'm considering adjusting the upper limit by a few inches to allow the vent more breathing room without sacrificing room space. Although the way it is now might not be a problem at all, the tube really isn't pressed hard.

Right now I'm ordering a single 1 Ton AC unit that will reside in the room, we'll build an enclosure around it so the vents can be fed right into it. I may actually add a 2nd one and build a simple distribution system to get air under the acrylic. I'm not sure I'll need to though, I'm pretty set on running the machine at 10 mins instead of 12.

By the way, under load before the transformer was moved, I was operating sometimes below 360, so it's tapped at 400
now

I'm sure SOMEONE will take this as problems with the Magic, but oh well

If you are worried about the vent tube ..just set the after cooling for an extra minute.

Okay, not good, got power to the bed, but when the bed is turned on, no lights. I think something happened to the disconnect box, is there a relay in there?

There is a small ground fault breaker that trips when power is removed or the emergency stop is hit. Just reset it.

Nope wasn't that Brian, I know all about that. I'd rather not say what it was, but it was the ground and neutral wires were swapped on the transformer.

Well I'm running at 393V under load now. I have to redo the phases when I finally get food in my stomach.

This thing is soo much quieter. I also hooked my vent up to go outside the room for the body cooler until my AC comes in.

Tanned at 10 mins, bed felt pretty nice. I probably shouldn't have tanned tonight, I was in the damn thing for about an hour trying to figure out my phases and then remap my lamps finally.

I remembered that later. The neutral comes off of the transformer to the bed but ther is no neutral from the panel to the transformer. I take it that since you moved the transformer that you needed to pull that extra conductor unless you originally ran it and just had it there as a spare.
