You see with a touch screen if your light bar goes and they do after 3 -4 yrs .Your bed would be down until repaired .They can sometimes require the replacement of the light board wich you are not likely to have in stock as a spare. The controls on the new magics are 20 times nicer and placed right next to your head. This way if the light bar fails you just keep on trucking until you fix it. I also think that touch screens and tanning lotion do not get along.I am putting in a 08 magic next thursday {I hope} 5 minutes from the airport in toronto. |

| Hall of Famer | Good point on the touch screen idea. I need to call Patryk and see how much it costs to have my my control unit moved to the head area instead of where it's at now. Sick of people stopping the bed with the knee. It's only happend a few times, but a few too many |

I personally dislike the blue and I think that the Eurosun version looks a lot more elegant. Are these available? UV2021?? __________________ What this power is I cannot say; all I know is that it exists and it becomes available only when a man is in that state of mind in which he knows exactly what he wants and is fully determined not to quit until he finds it. -Alexander Graham Bell |

Do the 2008's have a parabolic reflector or do they have the same reflector as the older Magics? I know the 2008's are using the new snap in lamps except for the 2000 watt facials, which are still wire lead. I'm not sure about the reflectors being the same or that they are now parabolic reflectors. |

| Super Star Join Date: Nov 2004 Posts: 543 | I have installed 3 beds with this type of reflector. They are supposed to put out 20% more than the old ones.I only metered these beds after instalation quickly,so I can't verify the xtra 20 points. When I get my own magic in I will be able to take a lamp reflector and glass from a ss platinum and compare it with the new reflectors and at that point I will be able to tell you the exact difference under clinical conditions. Pearl white is really, really nice. But I'm sure you could custom order any available colour. |

| Super Star Join Date: Nov 2004 Posts: 543 | The old magics had reflectors that were the usual type. The new ones are ,going by memory here, more like the saturn ..wich has parabolic reflectors..but not quite the same. They look real cool. But I say who cares? How much more output can a person want or need? The idea behind the new reflector was also to acomadate clip in horizontle lamps.P.S in the old days we called all reflectors parabolic..so to me they are all parabolic. But you could call them "new style". |

| Rookie Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Not too far from here Posts: 26 | uv2021, I was using the term "parabolic" to mean - looking more like the reflectors in the Saturn. You are correct, I think, in suggesting that all reflectors are parabolic in a way. I wasn't sure if the 2008's are using a new reflector, resembling the Saturn reflectors, or if they had stayed with the same style in use for the last 4 or 5 years. Thanks for clearing that up for me. |

| Hall of Famer | The new reflectors were supposed to be good for 20% more output and less heat? Ehh, the painting thing is an off season thing if anything. WOuldn't cost me much as I have a buddy who owns an auto body shop. I know it won't make me more money, but with Eurowalls, there's not much I can do to the room itself. They are ALL parabolic. but the new ones are Cone shape parabolic reflectors for a "spot" type beam of light that is less spread out than older parabolics. The cone shape requires more lamps spaced closer together OR a backing away of the lamps from the body. There is less crossover but more intensity in the "cone zone" that hits the skin. Most Cone reflectors give the results of a much higher output lamp...with the new magic..the bed will have BOTH higher output lamps and cones so it could be adjusted to go over 200 mills on the skin...scary. |
