Did you turn the lamps back down to level one after you changed the lamps and glass? Unless voltage is too high for some reason unknown, there is no way you should get 165 on level one with new supra's and glass. I usually get about 130 tops in same situation.

Even with mug 6, 165 would roast your mid-section to the point it would be unbearable for customers.

That reading just doesn't seem right.

Ah-HA! Whoever had and/or sold the Magic to Michael must have removed the clear pieces and piled them up on the floor behind the bed. Same thing Bruce and others did with their old Tornados haha.

Huh? The "wrinkled" stuff is old original Italian glass... right Sparky? I thought you (Michael) had Mug-6 with no "wrinkles". In either event you are supposed to have 2 layers: Dark blue/purple and clear. Call Al or Patryck or...?

yea I'm confused, the wrinkled stuff is the stuff right after the lamp, then the mug 6 is the top layer. that was where my clear glass was.

It's been my understanding that that blue wrinkled sheet is the UVC blocker

Jesus... you have TWO layers of filter glass and no clear???

Italian plus MUG-6? Weird!

ANY kind of glass (except quartz and fused silica) blocks any UVC from the bare lamps. Clear, blue, purple, green, orange, whatever...

Even though you are (now) getting normal 5.0 UVA readings... I bet your UVB and MED/hr are much too low due to two layers of "filter" glass. Didn't you learn UV-transmission basics at Circuit City?

Man, I could have swore back in the day Patryk told me to remove the top layer, which was the clear and put the MUG in place.

I never EVER burned a type 3 in the magic.........

Well if my bed is indeed setup wrong, I guess that explains that...

I'd imagine that has to hurt my 5.0 readings too

No... The 5.0 UVA goes thru just fine. You are "hurting" your 6.0 and 7.0 readings.... but you don't have those meters so you have no idea.

Shari was talking about Superboy's huge readings - not your strange "setup". He has too much B and you have too little. Sparky could tell you guys what the "just right" values should be.

Jones, I have never burned anyone in the Magic. I start all but the very fairest at 9 minutes and if they do ok at that level they go to 12, the very next session. If they are fair, I start them at 7, go 10, and go to 12. I have never had a single complaint. I don't know what the problem is with your bed but no else here has had that problem. Anyone else had that problem?

Mike, when you put in the mug 6 glass, the italian glass comes out. Mug 6 closest to the lamp and then the clear.

Since you have the mug 6 glass, you should see some heat drop with the clear glass but the biggest drop will come when you get the proper ac going into the bed.

so since the italian filter blocks B, and Mug 6 lets alittle more through, I'm getting basically no B right now? man, I'm going to have clients lovin me!
