Livingroom lamp..bed side lamp, etc. A bulb is the device that converts electricity to heat and light. I worked at a place that made safety covers for flourescent "bulbs". Home Depot sells flourescent "Bulbs". But on our equipment they are called lamps... Why is that?? And if the long thingies are lamps, why are the face tanning bright things called facial bulbs.. or are they? Are the face tanners called lamps also?? :-) |

When I was a rookie I always called both of them bulbs and I was told over and over again that they are lamps. Maybe someone else has the reasoning behind it on this site. Also, sign company's and distributors sell signs that say "hot new bulbs". Good question though |
