Weird entries - TanToday - Helping Salon Owners, One At A Time, Since 2000!

My program has been doing something really weird lately. At close out time the drawer is not balancing and when we do a summary report for transactions it is reflecting that I have made a sale transaction for cash in the amount that we are out of balance. We check the account that I supposedly sold a package to and they have no new package however under sales history you can see a sale transaction. But it is at the bottom of the history as if it was added under packages. Ok I definatly have not rang up any of the false transactions and I'm positive my worker did not have my code to falsly ring up the transaction. Has anybody ever experienced this?

I remember watching an X-Files episode called Ghost In The Machine. Maybe we need to call Mulder and Scully out to your salon to investigate.

All kidding aside do you think you may have a computer virus. Some do crazy things to programs like recode them. Could be a virus or just some simple hiccup with the Suntouch.

I don't think it is a virus. We don't have any type of internet connection to this computer. I've emailed and called Suntouch and they insist it is employee theft, however I am 100% sure it is not because 1) the first time it was done you can see on reports that my employee was ringing, and tanning another client at the exact time the transaction was done, plus I was standing right there. 2)The second time a different employee was on the register and I was again right behind the desk at the time of the transaction and 3) I was working the 3rd time it happened and I didn't have ANY cash transaction and the transaction was for cash! Well I guess I'll start looking for new software because this can not keep happening.

Ask the customer in question about what,and when did they purchase the package,and how did they pay.The employee that made the sale,it should be listed in the history also.
