Default Private Label Lotions

So everyone is talking about how private label lotion is so amazing and you increase your profits yada yada yada....but when you buy lotions at $4.00-$8.00/bottle and have no packettes....why not just go with national brand that has bottles and packettes that you can pick up for the same price after your discount anyhow....and it looks more professional. NO?

Do any PL companies offer packettes? Redlime was one of them but i heard that they have discontinued them....True or no?

I bought Redlimes PL kit........

There packet sample looks to be desired and your not able to change anything in them unless you want to pay through the nose.

Everything I sampled in the kit would sell in the $15-$29 range.

hardly good mark up when compared to our current pl lines, all 10 of them!

At GSK Resources, we sell 1/2 gallon jugs to make sample cups from for our private label customers.

The profitablity of 1/2 gallon jugs is much greater compared to packets. Doing packets like major manufacturers have for their items requires very large production runs.

Why not mini bottles like John Abate or Tester Jars.......cheap and can be labelled like a bottle.

I cannot stand JUGS and cupping out lotions....that is the most ghetto thing you can do. Forget profitability......i'll just jack up the price on the damn packettes to make the same. I want professional look not ghetto tans.

so instead of cupping lotion for $2.00.....i'll sell packettes for $8-$9...i don't care.....

HOw do you figure? You can source it locally or go to China and get it even cheaper.....I've already done so. So THAT is why i can't understand why they aren't heading that way. it's not big dollars......will cost under $1.00 filled and labelled. If that is big dollars in your mind....then you are right.

I'm not gonna go into details and quoting pricing......UVAngel, i'm sure you know me by now that i research in detail to maximize profits. So believe me when i say it.......it is possible without a big investment.

I'm talking 5,000 testers and you divide that by 5 products and that's 1000 mini's per product.

So for under $5,000 you have 5 product lines mini's. I spend more than that a month in lotion orders alone for the salon. Why not invest it and make my own lotion line. Yeah like i have more time to do that.....One day....mark my words.......if nobody comes to me with the right product and bottling and size and PRICE.....i will do it myself.

You might wanna check out redlime

They have a

Maximizer (Low end and a High end0
Natural Bronzer
DHA Bronzer
Hot Bronzer
And a Moisturizer

I beleive the only one they dont make sample packets for is the Natural bronzer

You design your own labels for samples and bottles and they put them on

OR

You can just carry there product line with there labeling

I have a shot bar which I created, in which I put in pre-made 1/2 oz. cups with lids. It has the labels of my products behind each type of lotion, so it looks somewhat professional. We sell the cups for $3-4. I will try to post a picture of it on here so you all can see what I am talking about. Greg at GSK has helped me a ton. My products look totally professional. I hired a graphic artist to do design my lables, which is costly up front, but it pays off in the long run.

I'd give cups a shot if the product was worth it. I'm not sure I'd keep it on the couter. I'd display the bottle and if they want a sample then give the cup. Who says packets need to be in site.

I'd say they should be on display along with thousands of other salon owners and business marketing organizations and consultants. it's called impulse buy. Keep it in front of their face and they'll buy it. Display plenty of them in an organized manner. If you have 1 or 2 on display they'll hesitate and won't buy. Display a couple dozen choices and help them pick the right one and they will buy. Anyone that took business, ran a successful business or did any type of marketing or worked on displays and merchandising would agree! If you display a cup or a packette....value and appeal is what sells. A couple dollars difference will not make as big of a difference you all think it will.

I had a cup for $3.00 and i had a packette for $8.00 of the same product and the same amount. People said, i don't want a cup...what the hell is that...give me the packette. Same amount in the cup, same product, $5.00 cheaper......NOPE.....cup is ghetto....

Guess what....i'm making more off the packette than i did off the cup. And i surely cannot sell a cup for $8.00.......but i can with a packette.....and guess what again....the packette is $8.00 or the bottle is $50...you get bettter value out of a bottle......so they buy the bottle. OR you can sit there and sell cup after cup after cup after cup...that it's really not a big deal to buy a bottle to save so little.

It pushes them to buy the bottle...and you know what, if they don't buy the bottle....i dont' care...they are paying $8-$9 for a packette and i still make more money.

THAT, is how you do business.......not counting pennies off of cups to pay your rent.

And YES, all that has to do with packette of lotions. You just don't realize it until you make the change over.

These PL companies are the ones telling you it's okay to cup a lotion cuz they want your money.

Din,
I don't have packettes but I do have 2oz tubes. I know that you have wanted unusual packaging. Why don't you purchase it yourself and we will be happy to store it for you and fill as needed. Just a thought.
Min. run on packettes are around 10,000 that's why it's not done.

Where can i see pictures of the bottles and the 2oz tubes before i make a decision.

It's not that i wanted unusual packaging....rather i wanted a nice looking bottle. Look at MRI ibronze etc....Devoted Mon Ame etc... Those are amazing looking bottles. I am not looking for tubes, tottles and other ugly low end bottles to sell lotions at $20. I am looking for High End PL.

My cheapest lotion is $45.00. Most of my lotions are $75-$95.

I am looking for a PL company that can do this for me so that i can eliminate all National Brands eventually.
