Default Moisturizer Tester's

I was just wondering how many of you put out free sample/tester bottles of your moisturizers?

If so do you feel like it makes a huge difference in your sale of moisturizers?

We have sample bottles in the room of hempz, and in the lobby.

YES it makes a difference, they try it in the rooms and come to the desk and ask to purchase

Realistically speaking....If you are selling 2-3 moisturizers a month....by putting out testers on the counter you will now sell 1 a day to 5 a week (realistically). You will see a HUGE difference. Because they are putting one pump on their hand...the testers last a long time.

It's well worth doing! BUT....you have to make a sign for it too. Make sure it's a nice display.

Here are a couple different signs i've used on my display.

I did it in the past and I had clients abusing it by using it everytime they come in and never buying

I would think by having it in the room it would be worse.. They now would use it on there entire body everytime and never buy it.

i would tell them....it's a tester to put on the back of your hand....not a FREE bottle to apply everytime they come.

You try it, and then you buy it....that's what it's there for. After that, never had anyone abuse it.

The testers are on my front counter in front of me at the cash....they don't abuse it in front of you!

With the bottle at the counter, have you tried maybe velcro on the bottom to keep it from walking away when you're not there ?

I'm kicking around the idea of a counter display. But I don't believe in any lotion samples in rooms. Some people will wanna shower in it.

It's surprising how many people think we get this junk for free !

Since day one we have had at least 1 or 2 different moisturizers in each room. Only once has one walked out. That was an Heiress near Christmas time.

Here's the roar....it was one of my fired techs caught on cam carrying it out. Ding bat!

We sell about 3 cases a month. Mostly Hempz by Supre...but we carry about 6 different. They all sell for whatever reason... Looks, Texture, Smell, and some that actually work..

Caltan and Matahari used to have the stand to feature products every month with the 3 legs and the signs to display them.

Just use that and make your own sign and display up to 3 at a time.

I display 3.

Flaunt, Hempz and Enamor.

Those are the only 3 i sell....no need for any others as they are great.

We never put a full bottle in the room, we keep them just full enough that its a little bit of a pain to get more than a squirt or two.
We refill every morning about 1/4 of the way.

ALSO only in our upgrade rooms....nothing special in the base beds.

What about a squirt or two in a cup in each room. Like a pillow mint ?

Each time you clean, it gets a new little cuppie

We have a lotion bar as an amenity with 6-8 different kinds of moisturizer. At an average cost of less than $5.00 each, it is a valuable selling tool. We sell a lot of lotion.

I don't think my competitors should do it.

It's not as simple as buying the program and doing this kind of stuff. You need to know what you are doing with design programs such as Corel or Photoshop to put stuff like this together.

I started designing when Corel Draw first came out.....they are on version 13 right now....
