|  Not happy today! Hi all.. So I went to the trade show on the weekend . I was out looking for a new lotion line to carry. got samples etc.. It is the prices that they charge me drives me crazy. I only get free freight if the order is over $500 freight is usually between $15 - $25 so if I buy 1 bottle of lotion i get charge $15. Now to the cost of lotion DC needing nirvana 365ml @ $38 + gst (10%) rrp $76 supre smoke 310ml @ $55 +gst rrp $82 I just picked these 2 out of the lists I have as examples only... So for $500 I don't get a great deal of product... I don't get a discount when or if I buy a huge anount I may get a free poster. wow.. oh I got a free tshirt once..LOL so that is my whinge for today. I do realise that the distributors have to pay customs tax etc, but honestly this sux! |

You're in the wrong continent....LOL Screw everyone and go to a local chem/cosmetics manufacturer and private label your own product locally. Then YOU start selling your lotions to ALL the other salons that have the same issues as you. We don't have that many disty here. we have around 6 - 10 they all sell seperate things, like 1 is caltan, 1 is supre 1 has dc & ds, 1 has soleo, 1 has australia gold.and there are a few others, not much of a choice here. Most of them are as dumb as dog poop. Maybe I should do what you say Din and be a the local lotion chickie |

Remember, that pond you are across requires airmail....not regular ground cargo, Freight, Customs/Duty etc...all that equals about 40% which IS your discount. Like i said.....make your product locally and start selling to others WITH a discount. They will all buy from you. I wish we were in your situation, i'd conquer the entire market, with that much opportunity. Thanks Din.I appreciate your help I just emailed a company so we will see what they have to say.... I hope it works.. I remember looking at local manufacturers for makeup and it was way cheaper to do it all in the states including all freight, custom tax etc than here in Australia. Fingers crossed |
