Arrow $100 lotions

Do you think the lotion manufacturer's are entering the $100 bottle lotion market to get more money out the online outlets?

Not that salons won't sell that $100 bottle to a few select customers the first time but unless it "tickles the fancy", it aint going to happen in most tanning markets repeatedly to the mass's.

But, when it goes online for $50 which is a huge selling point for us, then it becomes attractive and the salon owner lose's even more sales do to manufacturers that still do nothing to online diversions!

IMHO $100 lotions are rediculous. I won't stock it... Period.

And think, since ETS has control of the market now, our discounts will slowly fade and that's even more $$ we will loose.

That's a good thing.......no? HENCE™ why i love them. Pricepoint. Make more money. Everyone questions why i keep mentioning pricepoint. If you get the same discounts as you did with other lotions like DS etc....but you make more $$$ cuz they are cheaper salon cost than the others. HENCE™ you make more moolah.

Moved them to the middle shelf middle row let the girls use them a bit got some sample packets teach a bit of sales technique and BAM they are going out the door like mad! dont believe me call and ask nicole at salon support about justin in austin !

Mike which do you have priced way higher. I just tried Mon Ame. Love the lotion great results fragrence is awesom. Skin feels great afterwards. DC is so much better then DS ever was. The thing is, I would love to sell the $109 btl of lotion but don't know if my customers would think I'm crazy.

i tried the pink packette...with Love....and i found it to give me great colour, goes on great. Only problem is, it's for females only. It has a perfume smell that isn't unisex in my opinion. And that's the one with the bronzer.

Haven't tried any of the other new ones just yet, but will probably try the Couture next. Customers that tried it, loved it and loved the smell and the colour they got.

They didn't send me the sample with the bronzer. But I did get great colour from the other. Would you give some free upgrades with a purchase of that btl. or do you think it would be a hard sell.

i wouldn't advertise it....but maybe tell them...cuz you're a good customer, i'll give you a free tan in the HP bed with that lotion cuz it's a great combination. This way you not only sell them the top lotion, but on the top bed that they'll keep using cuz you recommended that combination for best colour

OR.....

Limited time offer.......i'll refund 1/2 of the price back to your file to use towards upgrades (at single session pricing....not package or member pricing)

So you tell them it's like 50% off the lotion. That worked great for lotions i wanted to get rid of at full pop.

Matt you can forget people staying on topic. "It ain`t gonna happen".

Now do I think they are pricing their lotions higher to get more out of the online outlets? Why should that matter? Most of the ourlets take their lotions out the back door anyway. That is not going to stop anything.

Now if your topic had been "Do you think ETS is cutting the distributor discounts to help keep sales off the internet?" I would agree with you. That is one thing I will say for them they have been fighting internet sales and now with them in control they will fight even more.

If you are not selling 100.00-125.00 bottles of lotion you are leaving money on the table. You have those customers who just have to have the best and it doesn`t matter how much it cost. If it works they will buy it. Plus you have those few employees who love that extra money they get with the high priced lotions. My 20.00 lotions stay under the counter for those who just will not buy anything.

its the same goo in a bottle...maybe a jazzed up bottle..all they are doing is raising the SRP..to be higher to make up for all the discounts we all are getting ..

I was adamant that I wouldn't retail anything for more than $60. Saw Potency on (yes, SORRY) Sunset Tan, and put it on the shelf @ 85$, on sale for $75, and it's my strongest seller right now, you just never know...High end customers WANT to spend cash for the rush of having the best....
