This website cost me 2 lotion sales today. They are selling lotions at salon cost. How do we stop manufacturers or distributers from selling to these company's?

You cant. You have to compete with offering other reasons to buy from you vs online. Tell them if they buy that from you, you will give them X upgrades or X towards a package or X off a lotion, etc.

I’m curious to what everyone else sells lotions for. I keep seeing these posts about losing lotion sales to these websites, but when I look at their prices I see little difference between what they charge, including shipping, and what we sell for at our store.

I’m cheap and see no reason to think my customers won’t be. I check online before buying most things locally, but I’m willing to spend a little bit more for the ability of buying it now. This is what I try to offer our customers. They may be able to pick it up a few dollars cheaper online, but I’m betting they’re willing to pay an extra $5 or $10 for the ability to buy it today. At these prices I’m still making a nice profit.

I honestly don’t see why anyone would pay MSRP or anywhere near it.

Even if they buy it at salon cost, you dont pay that much so you can still offer it to them for the same if you wanted. You still made money.

It's very obvous...I have said before that I really think that there should be some type of filter for people who do not own salons to have a membership on this site. Sorry, and all due respect to Alan but it's just too easy! I agree, lets dump this thread, quit crying about diversion, and either take some kind of difinitive, organized action. OR LET IT GO........

my distributor has the site and will hopefully have success in finding out if its legitimate. Electricical rates in CT rose 130% over the past 18 months and my membership price have been driven down do to competition. I make money on lotion and upgrades. That's all. When I lose lotion sales to a website it drives me insane.

mentioned this problem to my distributor ..and he insisted that it is the salonowners that sell these lotions online/ebay etc. ??hmmm... i hope not!

This particular site can easily be a salon owner. There are some salon owners that are charging this amount in their stores.
